Yeah, did you see all the shots of his facial grimaces today?  I bet he was thinking, "Damn, why can't I have Chad Pennington on MY team."
as long as the dirty little sneak thief isn't saying:
" Damn, I bet I can have Cassell on my team next year"

What did Favre end with, something like 23 interceptions this season?  That's indefensible.
I had to look it up:
his TD:INT ratio for this year is 22:22. He always was one of those toss it up and hope my guy catches sort of QB. He has led the league for years in INTs

I have never been a Farve fan, something about him just struck me the wrong way. Silly, I know.
However, he was a great QB, and due to his own ego, he willl go out of the NFL as a washed up, self serving, old guy who didn't know when to hang it up. Pity really, he could have made a graceful exit like Montana or Marino.

So, how long do y'all think it'll take Dallas to dump TO, and where will he end up? I think it's about time he becomes a Raider.

It must be my day for humility :

While switching back and forth between the Jets game and the Dallas game, TO was the only one other than Choice playing with any heart today.

TO will be gone this season and I think it will be because he asks for a trade or an out. Ala Randy Moss-esque.

* choking on these words*:
I don't really blame him. He has been pretty well behaved and as team oriented as I think TO can be. He works for an absolute idiot of an owner, a ineffective marshmallow coach and a QB who pulled off the greatest coup of recent memory:
65 mil dollars, with not one play off win to his name. Dallas has become the Land of Oz.
Where he will go, dunno. But anywhere is better than where he is.

Well, my view of Favre is more or less:

He was a great QB at his peak.
He was also overrated even at his peak.
And his peak was a long time ago.

I have to agree that Romo pulled off a coup of the highest order with his new contract.

Yes, Steeler nation is nervous, I feared that Ben would be repeatedly concussed after the big one he had in the motorcycle accident.  Of course it had to happen in a game of no consequence.  (There is tons of data supporting that once you are concussed you are susceptible to them in the future.)

T.O. was exceedingly, out of character humble in the post-game press conference.  But the loss of that magnitude to the major division rival does not make things look good for some of the personnel, regardless of of Jone's protestations this entire week.  If/when T.O. moves on, I hope he lands with a dominant coach who quickly shows him who is boss and just how important a receiver who sometimes catches the ball is.

Dallas drama continues as Romo collapses in shower after huge loss to Eagles.  Not necessarily meaning that he's gone Vince Young breakdown, he was suffering from the flu earlier last week.

8-3 Just coming from beating the last undefeated team and I started to put some money aside to fulfill a commitment I made right after college with a fellow Jet sufferer to be at the next Jet Superbowl appearance together. We even talked about it and 'WOW - BRUCE! is doing the half time show! How great will that be - it's FATE!

After 40 years - I should have know better.

Once again J-E-T-S! Is pronounced 'suck' no matter how its spelled!
On the bright side - I can use the money to go to the SouthWest Leather conference in Phoenix!

Poor Level, he must be going crazy.

Merc: You Jets fans have had alot of disappointments. Perhaps with the firing of Mangina things will look up. And maybe Favre will retire, lol. Last I heard he was having an MRI, then going to ponder his retirement. Ahhh, the mystery of each and every season.

I heard on the radio today that Parcells may be leaving the Phins. Seems if the owner sells his 95% shares, Parcells contract becomes void, if he chooses. And the speculation is that he may be interested in returning to the Jets. Or go to Detroit or the Browns. That would certainly be interesting, if nothing else.

Also TMZ announced that Tom Brady and Giselle are engaged!

But Daddy Brady is denying it !

LOL, reminds me of last year when everyone was saying Gisselle was pregnant.
The media circus that surrounds Brady and Bundchen is ridiculous. But it keeps things interesting.

Yeah--actually, didn't we say we were going to meet there?

Oh, and mbmbn: I didn't think Mangini was the problem and don't think his firing is going to help things one bit unless Favre retires.  The problem was Favre's interceptions, which killed the offense and left the defense on the field too long.  Sorry to say, I think the Jets would have been at least 11-5 this year with Pennington at QB.

I think it's interesting to look at strength of schedule when considering which teams have made it to the playoffs this year:

LAM:
Despite my personal distaste for the man, I don't think he deserved to be fired. He had a winning record this year, and only one year left on his contract. I think your FO should have let it be.
Besides being a divisional rival, I would much rather face a EM coached team, than a Cowher coached team.

Shanahan is available...

quote:

Broncos fire coach Mike Shanahan after collapse

DENVER – Mike Shanahan became the latest and most stunning victim of the NFL coaching purge, fired Tuesday by the Denver Broncos after a late-season collapse knocked the team out of the playoffs for the third straight year. Shanahan joined Eric Mangini, Rod Marinelli and Romeo Crennel on the unemployment line after going 24-24 over the last three seasons, including three straight losses in 2008 that turned a three-game division lead to an 8-8 record.

Despite that, and the 52-21 loss to the Chargers that ended Denver's season Sunday, this was a shocker: The ouster of a 14-year coaching veteran who won two Super Bowl titles for Denver and was considered my many in this town to be a lifer. "After giving this careful consideration, I have concluded that a change in our football operations is in the best interests of the Denver Broncos," owner Pat Bowlen said. Shanahan's record was 146-89, but the Broncos remained stuck at only one postseason victory since John Elway retired in 1999 after Denver's second championship.

Me neither.  I'm a Browns fan and have had little to celbrate.  Everyone knew we would have a coaching change but I thought Shanahan was popular in Denver
