ORIGINAL: KatyLied Joe Flacco is starting to look like the next big best thing. How embarssing for Dallas as they choke (again) in December, and in front of a star-studded goodbye to Texas Stadium crowd. Funny, Flacco is playing just like Trent Dilfer did back in 2000, making a few big plays, managing the game, and not giving the ball away. The difference is that Flacco is doing this as a rookie, and that he can rifle the ball into tight spots and to a receiver before a DB can make a play. The downside is that he consistently overthrows receivers -- so when he's inaccurate, the ball sails. The other upside is that he has eliminated the mistakes he was making earlier in the season -- dumb throws on the run and fumbles in the pocket by holding the ball too long. I'm curious what his upside is going to be, but his character looks great --- dedicated, studious, and even tempered. The BAL coaching staff also looks better than in the Billick years, as the team shows more offensive imagination and team discipline. Oddly the one weak area of the team has been special teams, which is ironic given Harbaugh's background. As for Tony Romo, I think DAL has been coaching him down, and I think having TO is a mixed blessing at best. Jason Witten, though is a stud. If DAL would simply run the ball more and rely less on its passing game -- I think they'd be in the playoffs.
