Well, Coughlin evidently said "fuck it" as far as resting his guys

Wilfork is lucky they didn't see him sticking his finger in Jacobs' face mask; for once, I agree with Chris Collingsworth, the refs would have tossed him.

He'll probably get a fine tossed at him next week over that incident.

I like Haynesworth and Sanders, but Asante Samuel and Rodney Harrison are two reasons why the Patriots are 15-0.  In fact, I'd say the Pats' defense is probably stronger overall than their vaunted offense.  Their offense has been shut down for whole quarters at a time this season, but NO ONE has lit up their defense.

DPOY: hard to say - my top choices would be Kevin Williams, Albert Haynesworth, Bob Sanders and maybe Patrick Willis. I like the DTs out of that list, but who knows who will actually get the recognition...

i have to disagree about the pats defense. their run d has specifically been their biggest weakness this year - remember the baltimore game where willis mcgahee had his way with them for 4 quarters? there was this one open field run of his where he put a move on jr seau that was just... well, it was pretty sad. it reminded me of pedro pushing don zimmer to the ground.

the warning signs have been there for a while, the run d worried me last year too. those LBs are just too old and slow now, and teams can run effectively if they can succesfully isolate their guys on the LBs and force them to make the solo tackle. it's even worse now that their youngest (best?) LB is on IR, rosie colvin. adalius thomas has had to move back outside because of it, making seau a fulltime starter inside. seau is a solid contributer but he is slow as hell now and can definately be taken advantage of. NE does have one of the best d-lines in the league tho and have played a fair number of 4-3 fronts this year depending on the team, and i wouldn't be surprised if they tended to more of that since it may be the formation that gets their best players on the field.

Couldn't help but notice that the cowboys managed to rush for as many yards as Lance Armstrong has testicles.....Not exactly putting any fear into their opponents of late...

Beyond N.E....I don'tsee how anyone can have a tremendous amount of confidence as their teams enter the playoffs.

Goddam....Brett is soooo fuckin' precious.

i have been a lifelong redskins fan, and have suffered miserably ever since babydom snyder purchased the team all those years ago.
and im actualy feeling good about how they are playing these days. i think they are the hottest team in the nfc going into the playoff.
a prayer: dear lord, please dont allow babydom snyder to do anything stupid , and just let the skins play to theier potential ,
amen

Will he be in a suit??  There might not be anyone left alive after that game; the hitting will be ferocious.

Brian Billick never came close to duplicating the success he enjoyed early in his career as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, and it finally cost him his job. Billick was fired Monday, less than 24 hours after his team concluded a season of high expectations with a disappointing 5-11 record. His entire staff, including defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, also was dismissed.    The firing was first reported by FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer.    "I believed that it was time for a change, I believed that we have the nucleus of a team that can get back to the Super Bowl, and we felt that in the next five years we had a better chance with a new coach than leaving Brian in that position," said owner Steve Bisciotti, who made the decision after consulting with team president Dick Cass and general manager Ozzie Newsome.

Sure, the Patriots' linebackers are probably the weakest link of their defense, but...Asante Samuel and Rodney Harrison are both defensive backs.

Eli Manning made Asante Samuel do some stupid things the other night, and Rodney Harrison didn't look so great when he was forced to come up and play the run.  But they're both still outstanding.

OK, I just learned that Steve Bisciotti is a moron.  If you want to fire Billick, go right ahead, but don't say that you have the nucleus of a team that can get to the Super Bowl, because then you just look like a dumass.
