I was away for the weekend.  Viktor usually does ok, because an elderly woman in my apartment complex comes and hangs out with him while I'm gone (bless her amazing heart).  But then I'm usually home Monday mornings, as I work from home on Mondays, and that's my "I'll make it up to you by snuggling all day" day.  Today, though, I had to be in the office all day so I drove straight in from my weekend at the Mister's house.

Came home after work - all magnets knocked off the fridge, Lazyboy is reclined (haha), and the Afghan blanket from my grandmother (which he has taken ownership of) was dragged down the hallway (usually he just pulls it off the couch).  He was busy.

Now he's being clingy-kitty, curled up on the foot rest of the recliner with his head and paw on my leg, and purring.  After, of course, meowing up a storm at me when I got home.  But I cleaned his box, fed him, gave him fresh water, and gave him a back rub....So it's all better now.  But I HATE having to go into the office on Mondays - I worry about him getting too stressed.

Super grateful to his Nanny, though. She won't have another cat of her own, after being too pained from her own kitty's passing, but she loves coming here and holding him, playing with him, talking to him, etc.  She has a key so she can come and go as she pleases when I'm not here. She won't take money, either, so I leave her gift cards a lot, even though she scolds me for it, lol.

Misty feels that she did not get enough chicken tidbits and I need to go back out and get some more chicken. I'm getting a good scolding, LOL.

So, why are you still here?  A good kitteh momma would be already in the car, headed out to get those delectable little tidbits for your precious little beebee!  Shame, shame.......

Nope, not happening. They get a quota of how much "human" food they get to have, and she definitely reached her quota. They are "pampered" but not "spoiled."

Da Boyz went outside this evening. Then Booga came in. And then Booga went out & Pookie came in. And vice versa. *sigh* Pretty soon, I will tire of the game & put some food in a dish & lure them inside with it. They're out there chasing bugs, I'm sure!!

A friend of mine lost her cat today- she was very upset.    3 hours later-  she found it in the woods, very hungry.

You obviously have a different dictionary than my kittehs do.........in that one, Sqeaks' pic is next to the word "pampered" and KB is next to "spoiled".  They are interchangeable as far as they are concerned!

Doesn't help that their mom is a sucker for kitteh begging!

I had my carpets cleaned today, except for in the spare bedroom.  Viktor is now locked in that bedroom while the carpets dry, and is going ballistic in there (the boy does not like confinement!). He's meowing up a storm, scratching up the carpet, and slamming himself against the door.  Good Grief!

I'm concerned that the carpet cleaning solution might be bad for his paws?  Or he might lick his paws and get sick?  My vet said Swiffer can be toxic to cats, so that has me paranoid about carpet cleaner - can anyone enlighten me?

It's probably too late today, but call the cleaning company.  Most of the stuff used today is safe for pets.  Or go online and check the company's website.  If he's like KB at all, you'll find the carpet by the door totally shredded.

Or, you could risk life and limb and put socks on Viktor's feet........*snort*!  Let me know how that one goes!

Hahahah socks!

I let him out.  After awhile he curled up on the couch and started licking his feet obsessively, so I wiped them down (and between the toes, too) with baby wipes, and all is well.

Now he's all tuckered out from the earlier drama.

I used to think I spoiled my cats....until I came across a list one of my former employees left in the testing room (yeah, I'm nosy, but she did leave it right out in the open). It was a three-page list of duties for her pet-sitter when she went on vacation. As I recall, she had three cats, two dogs, and a couple of horses...the whole lot of them spoiled rotten.

For the cats, she had things like: "Be sure to leave the faucet in the guest bathroom dripping. "Grey Sister" will not drink out of a water bowl, and that is how she gets her water. "Jojo" must get his treats every day at precisely 7:00 P.M. He gets very upset if they are at all late. Place three of them on the counter, 1 inch apart. Then be sure to leave the room, as he is too shy too eat them if anyone else is in the room. "Coco" has a special brush and likes to be brushed for exactly 10 minutes each day from 7:30 - 7:40 P.M. You must be sure to use her special black brush. She gets extremely upset if you try to use the brown brush that is used on the other cats and may hiss at you. When you leave, be sure to shut Grey Sister in the master bedroom by herself. Be sure to leave the nighlight on in the adjoining bathroom, and of course, the faucet dripping, Coco likes to sleep in the guest bedroom. When you leave, be sure that the guest bedroom door is 1/4 open so he feels secure but not confined. Jojo sleeps in the laundry room. Please be sure that the cat bed is plumped nightly before you leave."

There were similar duties relating to the spoiled-rotten dogs and horses. I don't know how much she paid this pet sitter, but I'm sure he or she earned every cent!

I love animals and like to pamper them, but now laugh when anyone says my cats are spoiled. I would not in a million years kow-tow to animals the way she did!

I did some ironing but didn't put the ironing board away yet. Angel jumped up there and thinks it's a pretty cool place to hang out. Misty is waiting for me to cook dinner to see if it's anything she's interested in begging for or not.

OK, my kittehs are spolied, but dayum....not like that!!!!!!  Yes, leaving the faucet dripping for the one who wouldn't drink out of a water bowl, I can see that.....kittehs have their idiosynracies too, but feeding treats at an appointed time?  Brushing one between so and so time?  Closing doors?  uh-uh, no way......all my beebees have full acess to every room in the house, no one has a special one, even tho Smooch will still try to attack Squeaks.  She's learned to stand up for herself and hit back.

But honestly....we all kowtow to our kittehs......think about it.  How many "little" things do you do for them?  We are simply staff......but at least they appreciate us a little!

Welllll....when I leave for work or for the weekend....Bedroom door gets closed because he likes to play (read that climb and dangle in) in the curtains.  Bathroom door gets closed because he turns the toilet paper to confetti.  Paper towels get covered because, well, see toilet paper reason.  AC is set to 80 so he doesn't get too hot.  Treats are given to distract him when I leave.

When I come home, he's sitting just inside the front door, sees me and rolls around on the carpet, stretching, then meows up a storm until I pick him up to snuggle.

When I am gone at the Mister's for the weekend, he becomes clingy-kitty as soon as I get home, following me from room to room, climbing on me, meowing at me, purring, and not letting me out of his sight.

Of course, I talk baby-talk to him in such a high voice I might just shatter glass one day...

I'm not sure da Boyz notice when I leave. Not much changes for them really. Sometimes I think about leaving the music or the tv thingie on for noise for them, but then I think I'm being silly, turn it off & go. They never tear anything up, they pretty much just shed. Kinda boring most of the time. LOL Although Pookie's really getting into going out & handing out in the yard. He never seems to leave the fenced yard & when he wants back in he just meows at the window.

Oh lucky you - Viktor definitely notices and follows me straight to the door unless I leave him treats.

He pouts when I'm packing for the weekend.

It might be because there are 2 of them & they were 5 when I got them. The worst they ever do is get on the table. I don't eat at the table but I have a thing about cats not getting on the table. They also like to lie on every chair in the house. And they shed. A lot. So I have to clean off a chair before a visitor can sit. I also use the pet hair remover on friends' clothes before they leave.

Yeah, he's an "only child" which makes it harder (on both of us).

He's a huge shedder, too.  I clean the furniture daily, and keep a roller brush in my home and in my car.  White fur, too...a bit challenging on those days I wear black.
