ORIGINAL: soul2share He has a real nose problem.....when the AT&T guys were here to fix the phone and Iwebz, he was head down/tail up in their open toolbags every chance he got. He sticks his head in every bag, purse and carrying bag that comes into the house. The groceries get the most inspection......looking for nip or treats! Misty also loves to examine the groceries. She has a very keen sense of smell and can figure out exactly which bags contain raw chicken, raw meat, deli turkey, etc. I have to be sure to put those items away immediately or she will get into them. A few weeks ago, I put the grocery bags down, then had to go heed nature's call. In that short amount of time, Misty located a package of deli turkey, pulled it out of the grocery bag, and was gnawing through a corner of the package. A cat I owned in the past, Amanda (may she rest in peace), loved to get into anything and everything that came into the house. One two occasions, she actually got into the open tool boxes of repair men, took a tool out, and tried to run off with it. I had her number and saw what she was doing so she didn't get away with it, though. One day when I was at work and she was bored, she figured out how to get into my jewelry box (which I had not locked), lifted up the cover with her paw, took out several pieces of jewelry, and left them in various places all over the house. My first clue was a bracelet lying on the floor near the waste basket when I went to empty my trash. It took me a while to find the rest of the pieces. After that the jewelry box was always locked. I'm glad my current kitties are only interested in food items for the most part. It gives me a lot less to worry about.
