sunshinemiss -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/29/2009 6:42:56 PM)

What?  Nobody likes my quartet?

Wolf2Bear -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/29/2009 6:44:54 PM)

They are composers.

SilverMark -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/29/2009 6:45:13 PM)

They are all composers

sunshinemiss -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/29/2009 6:46:39 PM)

Yes.  Indeed they are.  However, one would hope for a tad more detail.

Meanwhile, have a cookie!

Good Clue! They all composed a song that the Cookie Monster sang! (feels pride at my great guess)

Wolf2Bear -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/29/2009 6:49:15 PM)

I know 3 of them composed broadway songs and Jim Steinman is famous for writing song ballads for meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler

Hell, I was lucky to know they were composers!

C and R - a good guess... actually a great guess!  *but alas not correct.

Mark, darling, I am ever so proud of you popping in.  It used to be we could do this game and sneak a peak at google and get the answer... Now, noooooooooo!  now we have to do "research" and come up with difficult questions... The questions are as slippery as eels... yes they are.

And bear a licious - you are on the right track.

Musicmystery -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/30/2009 8:42:22 AM)

They all wrote songs that became number one hits:

Dino Fekaris: "I Will Survive" (Gloria Gaynor) 1979
Jim Steinman (w/Andrew Lloyd Webber): "No Matter What" (Boyzone) 1998
Tom Morgan: "Into Your Arms" (The Lemonheads) 1993
Irving Berlin: many number one hits...most recently, "God Bless America" (Celine Dion) 2001

sunshinemiss -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/30/2009 2:28:10 PM)

That is true... but not what I"m looking for.   But ohhh look!  Tim has just given you all ONE big clue.

Gotta go make dinner!

*there are clues people... seriously... clues...

LanceHughes -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (10/30/2009 8:45:01 PM)

WAG (without the next quartet in hand - shame, Lance, shame) They all  wrote for artists with food in the artists' names.  Meatloaf, Lemonhead,....two to go, but as I said WAG.

LanceHughes -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/1/2009 10:44:41 AM)

Research leads me to believe Meatloaf and Lemonheads covered all four composers.

Where the heck is everybody?

sunshinemiss -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/1/2009 1:33:29 PM)

Hi Lance,
All y'all were making this so difficult, I decided to join the fray.  So my foursome takes two steps to get the answer.

Lemonheads and Meat Loaf are half of the first step (did you notice all the food references I put in my answers?)

sunshine, finally feeling a lil bit sharp.
