Apparently the Packer receivers forgot how to catch at half time.

Shit, they forgot that halfway through the season >.< But yeah, I'm sitting here thinking "Come on! I've caught harder to handle passes than THAT!" However, it's starting to look more like the game I was expecting to see.

Congratulations to the GB Packers for a deserved win.

The Steelers had a terrible, mistake-filled game.

And now, I shall get some sleep :)

BKSir -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 7:08:06 PM)

Hell of a game! Good job Steelers. Played a great game. Should be proud. Not being able to beat Rodgers, Matthews, Jennings and the rest twice in one year is nothing to be ashamed of at all.

Not a bad game, in the nail biter sense.

Congrats to all you Packers and Packerettes !!

And hugs to my friends RF and Katy ! It's painful. Been there.

As I said after the last playoff game, of the Bears, you can't give a team as good as the Packers a 2TD head-start and expect to win. Some of the Steeler mistakes were kiddie-clown stuff.

The Packer offence didn't especially impress me, apart from Rodgers, who was excellent. Not bad, you understand, just not great.

The Packer defence really did a number on Pittsburgh, although Pittsburgh were almost as harmful to Pittsburgh as Green Bay were :)

Fair play to the Steelers though - they never gave up, and kept battling away.

I'm already looking forward to next year :)

At least we were in it right down to the wire ... at the end of the 1st quarter I was worried it was going to be a 24 carat stuffing.

flcouple2009 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 7:21:39 PM)

Congrats to all of the Packer fans.

I though the Packers defense stiffened when they had to and Rodgers dragged everybody else along.

My hats off to Aaron Rodgers,  I believe he really was the difference in the game for Green Bay.

Here's a special pic I've been saving.....Lombardi I, II, & XXXI (owned by the Packers of course) in a backroom at Tiffany's (for real)

Great game,Rodgers was fantastic.....Pittsburgh was,not suprisingly,classy......and made a hell of a gamoe out of it,especially when you consider they fell behind 14  to 0 real quick.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 7:45:36 PM)

Congrats to Green Bay, especially Aaron Rodgers, coming off all of the horrendous Favre stuff, and Mike McCarthy, a Pittsburgh guy.

And I saw a few moments of Green Bay not being especially classy, just saying.

Ben shaved off his playoff beard.

Seems to me the interception was caused by the rush that hit Roethlisberger’s
arm... otherwise it was good defense not the Steelers kiddie-clown mistake.

Face up to it the better team won… they forced the Steelers into a game they were not used to playing against a good defense.

I thought it was a good game by both teams...Super Bowls are often boring as hell... this was entertaining all the way through.

A great superbowl!

Close score!

Both defenses were on target!

And I won $100 dollars!

Great Game!

As a conservative ex phone man and Packer fan, I'm thinking this year is off to a very good start...

cloudboy -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 9:06:15 PM)

GB showed an effective red zone offense and its passing attack can move the ball quickly. Its defense won the turnover battle as well. PITT made a game of it nonetheless, but Big Ben was finally laid to rest.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 9:13:11 PM)

Simple diagnosis: not taking care of the football finally caught up to the Steelers.  Two lost fumbles against the Ravens and a come-from-behind victory in a game they really should have lost.  Two interceptions against the Jets and a tight win in a game where they were leading by 24 and should have finished comfortably.  Three turnovers against the Packers was just too much to overcome.  You can't lose the turnover battle 3-0 and expect to win.

Rodgers completely outplayed Roethlisberger and is probably the No. 1 quarterback in football right now.

That said, I'm impressed that the Steelers even made a game of it.  Good pressure on Rodgers all night, and Mendenhall has become one tough son of a bitch to tackle.  Before this, I never really thought of him as a top-echelon running back.
