I’m going to let the coffee soak in, then see what Madden 2008 has to say ... totally unscientific, of course, but it’s just a bit of fun ...

Well even I don't think this result is likely: despite bumping the Packers' QB stats way, way up, it was a litany of disaster for them; fumbles, interceptions, missed field goals and always in the worst possible field position.

Steelers 37, Packers 0 (!)

Like I said though, I don't think the real game will follow that scoreline :)

Schweet.

I'm still shitting myself though :(

Terrible Towel is going into the washer/dryer in a minute though, so as to be extra fluffy for tonight, and Towel II is also on standby :)

I have a huge GO STEELERS! sheet cake to pick up for the party tonight.  Got my smirnoff mango ice coolers chillin'.

I've got some beers in, some nibbles, and plenty of Aftershock Red*. I'm going out to get more nibblers in a moment, but there's not much that doesn't have cheese on it :(

I can’t help thinking we’re going to get whomped, but I’m not going to give up til it’s truly over.

I think it’ll be down to whether our defence can do anything about the Packers’ ability to move the ball at will, and most especially Big Ben and whether he’s got his dancing feet on or not. Hopefully they’ll have hired some young hookers so he’ll be properly slutted-up, so there’s still some hope at least ...

*no specific reason, other than I love the taste of cinnamon.

Interupting the SB festivities to ask...

So what's in the water down there in NY/NJ ? Yet another female has gone to Deadspin with pics. This time it's a 17 y/o that Sanchez is/was allegedly involved with. < perfectly legal > She supposedly sent pics of Sanchez's bedroom and talked to the same reporter that did the Sterger-Favre piece.

I wonder if Mark is going to be her prom date.[8|]

A 17 year old?  He's cweepy.  At least Ben picks college coeds.

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 7:53:40 AM)

Yeah, what the hell is it with these damned Jets, anyway? Are they all watching "Caligula" in the film room every day instead of game tape?

The bears are better than the Steelers and the Packers destroyed the Bears. I think the game will be over by halftime.

Much like truckin slave I can see the future, as well.

Yeah, a defensive touchdown in the fourth quarter against a third string Quarterback is total destruction[8|]

The Bears showed the Pitts how to win the game, and I think they have the defense to stop the Fudgepackers, lets see if they have the offense.

*chortle*

Right! I've tried to go for a selection of beers that have some sort of Steeler or CM theme for tonight, so;

Banana Bread Beer: Bananas are yellow, so a good Steelers link there.

Ringwood "Old Thumper" - their emblem is a black boar, so that made me think of domiguy :) (yeah ok, the spelling's a bit off, but hey ho)

And "Old Empire" Strong IPA - coz I'm watching from the former empire of the world :)

Got some lovely rib-eye steak, coz the Packers will be pounded into rare meat by half-time.

I'm doing it au poivre, so got some cream, because if the Steelers win I'll probably jizz in my pants. And Roethlisberger will be peppering the Packers defence with long balls :)

And that's about all the connections I can think of for now :)

servantforuse -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 9:06:06 AM)

A friend sent me a terrible towel last week. This Packer fan used it to wash the salt and grime off my car after thr blizzard we just had. It really does look terrible now.

kdsub -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 9:06:13 AM)

It is almost time for all the speculation to end…How about lets putting out our last predictions on the score and see who is lucky or skillful enough to get closest and claim bragging rights tonight.

I predict…regrettably

Steelers….28

Packers….21

Packers 31, Steelers 20...GO PACK

I think if the Steelers have one of their "average" games then the Packers will massacre them.

If they bring their A game, then it'll be tight.

I'm a natural optimist, so I'm plumping for:

Packers 21, Steelers 24 (or possibly 26 if they get a late safety [;)])

Packers First blood

As a long time Cowboys fan I just can not, can not pull for the Squeelers.  I can barely stomach cheering on the Packers, at least they are in the NFC and most of my dislike centered around one who used to be the Quarterback.

BKSir -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 4:10:14 PM)

*clears throat* AHEM.

Pardon me for a moment... but, HELLS YEAH! Go pack!

BKSir -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 4:28:51 PM)

Okay, how about some of these ads!? :D Budweiser's "Tiny Dancer" commercial is hilarious, as is the livingsocial dotcom ad, and I even liked the motorolla xoom commercial. Very well made.

MasterG2kTR -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (2/6/2011 5:00:25 PM)

Yeahhhhhahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

GO PACK GO!!!!!!
