For mbmbn:

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger appreciates his counterparts across the NFL, especially New England's Tom Brady, who has been sacked just 16 times in 12 games. "It seems like Tom's like a superhero or something, and one of his powers is a force field around him," Roethlisberger said. "Sometimes he'll just sit back there and no ones around him."

[:D]

There has been a ton of coverage on this game up here and alot of interviews with players and coaches from both sides. It's been nice hearing them all show respect for each other.  I am not very familiar with Tomlin, but this week we have heard quite a bit from him. I'm impressed with him: Young and smart. And easy on the eyes. not quite precious, but definately a  looker.

Did you see where Rodney Harrison and Hines Ward have been exchanging text messages this past week ? I can't remember the entire thing but it had to do with both of them being on the ballot for Dirtiest Player of the Year last year, and them both having been looking forward to this game all year. < not smack texting, friend texting>

Oh, in case you are wondering, lol, the Steelers landed safely in Warwick, Rhode Island yesterday, and looked sharp coming off the plane. My sister lives a few miles from the airport and we were going out shopping yesterday and saw them coming off the plane onto the bus. We pulled over when we realized who it was and watched them. So you're boyz are safe and sound until 4:15 today. [8D]

Here's to us both !  And to a good game !

Sanity -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/9/2007 2:07:07 PM)

24 - 0 now

It's a good gear

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/9/2007 4:09:33 PM)

Congrats mbmbn, you've clinched home field advantage (as if there was any doubt!).

Well done today.

RavenofPK -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/9/2007 4:24:47 PM)

Well.......now that those useless human beings that make up the Patriot football team have won again........next come the Jets. Oooo......wow. Here's a thought.......since the Jets are obviously not going anywhere, and have nothing really to loose......how about they take the rumor of the Packers "hit squad", and make it a reality and systematically, and violently, end some Patriot careers. We all know the NFL won't really do anything but fine them. And since pro atheletes are all overpaid to start with.......they can afford it. And the humility would do the Patriots a lot of good. And I don't care about how good they are. They are good. No argument there. I am talking about them, as human beings. That's where the humility is needed.

Jeffff -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/9/2007 4:32:42 PM)

the Jets should call in sick

Jeff

Sanity, it's about time those Seahawks got it going, there's too much talent on that squad to struggle like they have at times.

Calling for cheap shots to end someone's career is bullshit.

Wait until he gets the wrath of mbmbn, it won't be pretty.  And I agree, it's bullshit.

Sanity -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/9/2007 5:02:46 PM)

Thank you Level - the final was the Seahawks, 42 - 21 over the Cardinals. Five interceptions! The Seahawks clenched their division and their playoff spot today and, seeing everything else that's going on around the NFL, I am confident that they could go all the way this year.

It's nice to have opinions. Good for you. *pat, pat, pat on the head* Run along now. As for this "wrath"......I am not concerned. I feel nothing for the emptiness of it. Have a nice day.

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/9/2007 5:09:38 PM)

LOL at "run along now"......... seeing as how it's her thread, not likely to happen.

OO8OO88O8 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/9/2007 5:22:05 PM)

What I don't understand is how ridiculously stupid our safeties are. The Steelers have arguably the best front seven in the league this year and the Patriots aren't even attempting to run the ball. So why do the safeties bite on every single play-action pass? Why they didn't  trust the front seven to stuff any run and just worry about the pass is beyond me.
