23-21. told ya not to count them out

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 8:41:07 PM)

WOW.... How did he miss that kick? He blew the game, simple as that.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 8:51:57 PM)

I cannot believe Adam V missed TWO, count em TWO FG's. [:D]
I think Kraft secretly kept him on the Patriots payroll.[;)]

Kittiekat: I wouldn't put this one squarely on AV's shoulders. I think Manning's 5, or was it 6 INTs and special teams lackluster had a whole lot to do with this loss. Manning just doesn't shine as well with out his full compliment of WRs.

Edited to add : This was the best worst game of the day.

I think those team record six interceptions by Manning did far more to blow that game than Vinny's shank jobs.  That game was painful to watch.  Who would have thought the Pats would come out of their bye week with a win?  [:D]

Yep, that has to be a career record for INT's for Peyton, oh, it's even better, it's a franchise record.

I fell asleep at halftime [>:]

quote:

"You always try to take care of it yourself," Manning said. "As an offensive player, you try to get in the end zone. We certainly left plenty of points out there before the last drive."

Had Vinatieri's kick gone through, it would have been the 29th time that Manning rallied the Colts from either a fourth-quarter deficit or tie to win.

quote:

Two weeks after breaking Johnny Unitas' franchise record of 287 touchdown passes, Manning passed the Hall of Famer again, but not in a way he'll want to remember. The previous franchise records for interceptions was five, done seven times, including four by Unitas. Manning had thrown just four interceptions coming into the game. With two touchdown passes, Manning pushed his career total to 291 to pass Unitas and move into a tie for fifth with Warren Moon on the all-time list.

The Colts host the Chiefs next week, I have a feeling they're going to pound KC.....

A deranged Pats fan goes * postal * !

"A deranged woman who claimed she had to see a former Patriots [team stats] linebacker steered her car through a wooden security gate at Gillette Stadium yesterday, police said, plowed through a metal grate and drove 40 yards down the Pats’ practice field before stopping, the bent grate atop her vehicle."

On a much, MUCH brighter note: my Dolphins are now a stone-cold lead-pipe lock for the first draft pick of the 2008 draft!

Probably so [:)]. No Ronnie Brown, a D that suddenly looks ready for Social Security..... now, the Rams may get back into things, so to speak, if Jackson goes back down. Their D is horrific.

Not to break the mood or change the discussion, but.....

How 'Bout them Cowboys!!!

well wishes ~ fairer

At least the Rams' O is outscoring the opponents' points that their D is allowing

Ah, that chick has a little crazy for ex-linebackers.
I wonder what she thinks of Jack Del Rio.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/12/2007 4:35:53 PM)

The Damn fool was looking for a guy who left here 6 years ago. LOL
Well, she's having a nice little rest up there on the top floor of Caritas Norwood Hospital.
I pass the stadium everyday on my way to work, maybe tomorrow I will drive thru the practice facility and get Drew Bledsoe and return him to Dallas. Poor, poor Level just hasn't been the same since his departure.
< besides I need the rest and Caritas Norwood isn't so bad >

"As part of the plea deal, Mr. Jacobs told KTVT-TV he will tell federal investigators about professional athletes who use steroids. He did not identify any players, but his supplements store's Web site claims he offered guidance to Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons players. "

Dwight Freeney's season is over, and now Simeon Rice has a chance to start anew in Indianapolis.

Freeney, the three-time Pro Bowl defensive end and highest-paid defender in the league, was placed on injured reserve Wednesday by the Colts. He's scheduled to undergo surgery later this week or early next week on his injured left foot.

The blow is potentially devastating to Indianapolis, which has already been depleted by injuries. Seven starters missed Sunday's game in San Diego, and Indianapolis lost four more starters, including Freeney, during the game.

"Dwight is a player you cannot replace," former Pro Bowl safety Bob Sanders said. "But we'll continue to move on, continue to get better. We'll put new guys in and continue to roll. That's what Dwight would want us to do."

The Colts (7-2) don't have a choice.

They are being decimated.  Good luck thinking they will continue to get better.

Yeah, but they have to try to stay positive. And if most of the guys get back in the lineup, they can still do major damage to their opponents.

I'm curious to how quickly Rice can crack the starting lineup.
