Well they sure aren't up for parents of the year awards.

Nope. The Steelers aren't the only ones still high....... [:)]

youngsubgeoff -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/8/2007 7:28:12 PM)

the browns are riding a 3 game streak. everything is starting to click. rothlisburger will be the city bitch after we're through with em.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/9/2007 4:54:37 AM)

Actually, looking at Cleveland's remaining schedule (is there a team with a wining record on it?), they should do well the remainder of the season.

OO8OO88O8 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/9/2007 2:35:47 PM)

Cleveland has the chance to be this years version of the Jaguars and by that I mean get to the playoffs year after year by playing a soft schedule. They can and should reach the playoffs regardless over who wins this weekend. They play a really soft schedule after this week.

On this weekends game. The Steelers should and probably will clobber the Browns. That defense can't stop Roethlisburger, the way he's been playing. He is right behind Brady in QB rating. Now I know many here don't put much stock into that so then how about this. Behind only Brady, Roethlisburger also has the most TD passes in the league. How many here knew that? That's more than Romo, Manning, Anderson, Favre and Kitna.

The Browns offense should move the ball but will they score? Lewis won't crack 70 yards. Winslow was a non-factor. Edwards had a good game last time. He was still blanked in the endzone and that's what counts. The one thing teams have been able to do this year is move the ball against the Steelers, just not score.

That Broncos game wasn't the Broncos. That was Jay Cutler playing the most insane game of his life. The offense still put up points. That defense couldn't stop a QB playing his heart out. Ever since that game it's been an entirely different defense.

The Browns are playing very well on offense, but they're running up against one of the best Ds in the league.

Flip that around, and you have a very average Brown's defense vs a solid Pittsburgh attack.

The Vikings mean business in 2007. But few knew they would take it this far.
The team has informed wide receiver Troy Williamson that he will be docked one game's pay for missing three practices as well as last Sunday's game against San Diego in order to attend his grandmother's funeral.

Williamson stands to lose $25,588.24 of his $435,000 base salary, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.   "It's really kind of out of my realm," coach Brad Childress said, according to the Star-Tribune. "It's a business principle, organizationally. If you don't show up, how does that work? We talked about that today."    Williamson, who returned to the team Wednesday, said he did not regret his decision to spend the time with his family.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7426438?MSNHPHCP&GT1=10637  CLEVELAND (AP) - Browns guard Seth McKinney will not play against Pittsburgh and guard Eric Steinbach was listed as questionable Friday, the first shake-up on a line that has led the way for Cleveland's surprising turnaround on offense.
Ryan Tucker, who hasn't played guard since the late '90s with the Rams, most likely will start in McKinney's place Sunday. Lennie Friedman would start if Steinbach is unavailable, and both Isaac Sowells and Nat Dorsey could see playing time.  McKinney did not practice all week because of a shoulder injury from last Sunday's win over Seattle. Steinbach strained his back during practice Wednesday, missed practice Thursday and is day-to-day.

The guards signed as free agents in the offseason and have helped stabilize the offensive line after years of injuries and lineup changes.

The Browns used the same five starters in their first eight games. Derek Anderson has been sacked just seven times over the last seven games while throwing 16 touchdowns.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress did not practice Friday and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys
Burress has not taken part in practice for most of the season while he contends with a nagging right ankle injury he sustained in training camp. He made a rare appearance on Wednesday but did not practice on Thursday.

"After any time he works he might be sore, but I don't think it will be an issue," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Friday.

Despite the injury, Burress leads the Giants with 37 receptions and eight touchdowns this season. The Giants announced Friday that they had extended fullback Madison Hedgecock's contract through the 2012 season. In eight games this season, the third-year pro has five catches for 38 yards.

Pittsburgh 31
Cleveland 28

The young Browns deserve some credit for their effort.

Rams get first victory of the year, Dolphins still sucking at 0-9.

Packers blow  out Vikes 34-0.

Vince Young continues to lose the bloom off of his rose, with his drive-killing passing.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 1:31:13 PM)

Steelers must do a better job of covering punt returns.  Today was bad.

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 5:06:24 PM)

I told you that the Steelers wouldn't blow up the browns. they were down at 15 at one point :p lucky? Nahhh. Steelers are skill.

WHATTTTTTTT?
Broncos won!

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 5:18:11 PM)

Ben, once again, proved his worth today, he made it happen when he had to, especially with those rushing yards on a bum hip.  As far as the Browns missing the 52 yard field goal at the end, I don't know if anyone could've done that, in the wind, they are tough from that yardarge at Heinz Field.  It was a great game though.

And did I hear that Rex's number was called today?

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 5:38:19 PM)

The important thing, is:

Dallas 31

Hosers 20

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 6:19:25 PM)

Wow, Peyton Manning has thrown 4 INTs (3 to this Cromartie guy) and they're barely in the 2nd quarter.

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 6:28:28 PM)

yeah, this is ridiculous. they must still be rattled from New england, i cant think of what else would make them this bad.

And year, Ben's rush was hilarious. Good. but hilarious. just when he runs. its funny. but that was a great run.

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 6:33:02 PM)

yay! im kinky now! :p

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 6:37:24 PM)

Peyton sucks tonight.

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 6:39:42 PM)

23-7. dont count him out. remember Romo threw FIVE interceptions and won.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 6:45:50 PM)

The second half may be completely different.  True.

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 7:00:43 PM)

hah @ last second - 1st half kick. who do the colts think they are, the broncos? :p

youngsubgeoff -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 7:10:37 PM)

we shall meet again steelers... and next time, you will not be so fortunate... we have your number now.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/11/2007 7:16:03 PM)

I told Level that it looks as though things are definitely changing in the power struggle of the AFC North.  Cleveland is getting better and will be helped with the remainder of their schedule.
