Baltimore is really in bad shape as a veteran team on the decline. The plan didn't call for them to fall off the edge this season, but injuries have pretty much torpedoed any efforts to right the ship. McNair reminds me a bit of Mark Brunnell in Washington.

Its funny when looking at a bad offense --- its not easy to pinpoint the actual problem. Is it the line failing to protect the QB or open holes for the RB, or is the QB holding the ball too long --- or failing to find his recievers ---- are the receivers getting open... etc.

I'm afraid to say that the Super Bowl remnants of the 2000 team won't get another shot at glory in Baltimore. Curious if the organization might try to trade Ray Lewis and Jonathan Ogden to contenders who needs "one more piece of the puzzle. Hypothetically, I could see Ray Lewis helping New Orleans and Ogden helping the Colts. Ogden, though, will probably retire.

Don Shula, the coach of the only perfect season in NFL history, believes the Patriots have a legitimate shot at running the table and joining his '72 Dolphins in going undefeated in the regular season and playoffs. But if they can pull it off, Shula insists the NFL needs to place an asterisk next to the Patriots in the record books because Bill Belichick got caught cheating in the Spygate scandal.

Shula is naturally protective of the Dolphins' accomplishment and certainly wants that '72 team to stand alone. Long ago, he said, he learned that "rooting doesn't make anything happen. The Patriots look so good. I think they got a real shot at doing it."

Ohhhh no, not the mighty asterick next to our names. What a bite that would be.

I don't care about going 16-0, as I have said. But it would do my heart good to see Shula's 72 undefeated Dolphins break open their champagne as the 07 Dolphins go 0-16.

Yes, of course I am, we're supposed to be hating on each other.  But things can change week-by-week in the NFL.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/7/2007 5:30:48 PM)

Note the detail, he even has the arm-band play call thingy (what is the correct name for that?)

Hey, your guys kicked some serious ass Monday. Did you see the hit James Harrison laid on that guy, when the ball went about 20 yards straight up into the air? [:)] He deservedly got Defensive Player of the Week honors.

cloudboy -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/7/2007 9:07:46 PM)

I would love to see the Browns takeout the Steelers.

caitlyn -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/7/2007 9:13:55 PM)

The Brown are not cooperating very well with the "Darren McFadden to the Cowboys" plan. Didn't they get the memo?

Congratulations to your team though Cloudboy ... they are really playing their hearts out.

Good for him, he worked hard.

Cleveland will be out to get us, we pounded them into being a decent team, they turned it around after that game, it will be interesting to see what happens.

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/8/2007 1:42:39 PM)

Lol.
Broncos owned the steelers. Clevland has a great chance at winning.

I think Cleveland is in trouble.

You've heard this ghetto tale a thousand times. Only this time, we're not talking about boyz 'n the hood or menaces II society, and it didn't transpire in sugar hill or some new jack city.

We're talking about an American Wanksta: The life and times of Andy Reid's boyz.   What's interesting and enlightening is examining the fallout and reaction to the Reid's family crisis. As best as I can tell, there's a lot of compassion and understanding coming from the mainstream media and a lot of judicial/investigative restraint being exercised by the courts and the police.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/8/2007 6:21:16 PM)

The line is Steelers favored by 9.5 points.  Yesterday it was 10.  I wouldn't feel too good if I were the Browns going into Heinz Field, especially after what happened on Monday night.  They will still be high from that game.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/8/2007 6:23:48 PM)

Well they sure aren't up for parents of the year awards.
