Sorry, I'm not buying what Vick's selling.  I hope the state goes after him.

Why, you Betch !

Ron... errrr, I mean Michael... said he is going to find God. I'm not sure what he meant by that, cuz I don't think God was ever among the missing.. but that is neither here nor there.

How could you possibly doubt his conviction to what he said. He had a similar public contrition after infecting that woman with herpes.

The man has always had, and always will have great remorse and great insight AFTER he has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Ohhh, yeah... I forgot... Virginia has a  sentence of five years per dog killed by Vick, maximum sentence. Let's see if that wimpy assed DA has the testicular fortitude to pursue it. I doubt it, as he has been a pansy ass throughout this entire thing.

I just don't cotton to those who abuse and exploit the innocent. Innocent meaning animals and children. Vick is on a par with John Couey in my world. The crimes are equal. many may disagree and say I put animals in the same realm as humans, so be it. I put those who do not have the capability to protect themselves in one category, whether they be human or non human. One is not greater or lesser to me.

John Edward Thomas Moynahan
Still no details on the baby's stats.  Can't really blame them for wanting to keep some stuff for themselves.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (8/28/2007 8:20:32 PM)

Well.... get rid of the  " M " in Moynihan and just use the other initials. Could it be that Bridget is being a ball buster ?  John Edward Thomas. What does that spell ?
J-E-T.. our arch rival.

Chewed up Vick cards sell for $7,400
By BRIAN CHARLTON, Associated Press Writer

The eBay auction for 22 Michael Vick football cards, chewed up and slobbered on by two Missouri dogs, ended Wednesday as the winning bidder dished out $7,400 — with the money expected to be donated to the Humane Society.

The success of that auction, with 31 different bidders, created a craze of 25 other postings this week offering torn up cards featuring the disgraced NFL superstar.
But so far, the original post from Rochelle Steffen, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., has been the only auction to attract droves of bidders.

Steffen gave Monte, her 6-year-old Weimaraner, and Roxie, her Great Dane puppy, every Vick card she owned to destroy. The result: The cards worth $1-to-$10 were crumpled, crimped, chewed, torn and generally in a sorry state. Some even had corners missing.

"When I started this, I only expected to get $100 for a local shelter," Steffen told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "But it's received so much attention. It's for such a good cause."

The gnawed cards were the most expensive Vick items on eBay, with well-preserved rookie cards, autographed jerseys and other collectibles selling for far less.
Vick pleaded guilty to a federal dogfighting charge this week. He will be sentenced Dec. 10.

IRVING, Tx. - When talking up the Cowboys into contender status, the obvious perception is that coach Wade Phillips was hired to fix a defense that developed into a December sieve last season.
But if the Cowboys are finally going to win a playoff game after a decade of frustration, Tony Romo must click with Terrell Owens, like Troy Aikman used to do with Michael Irvin. The scenario could be as simple as that.

Thus far, it has been a Sportscenter-free summer for T.O. and that's fine with the Cowboys who endured enough Owens drama last season to last a lifetime. Gone also are Bill Parcells and Mr. Owens' adversary, receivers coach Todd Haley, whose direction with the Cowboys' passing game didn't always please No. 81.

Though Bill Cowher will likely be in high demand the next time a coaching job opens up, the Super Bowl winning coach plans to remain with CBS as an analyst for at least this year and 2008, according to a report on USA Today's Web site.
"Bill came in to have a few words with our group and said, 'I'm not coaching this year, or in 2008,' " fellow CBS analyst Solomon Wilcots said in the report. "It surprised me, only because you know he's going to be in demand, despite saying that. There's still going to be owners who believe they can woo him and will come after him.

"But I don't think it's based just on Bill's commitment to TV. It's more that he wants to see his (two older) daughters play basketball at Princeton."

However, there is a feeling that Cowher is talking about staying away from coaching to drive up his price. But after 15 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 50-year-old Cowher is enjoying the freedom of not being a coach.

"We're spending Labor Day weekend at the beach," Cowher said in the report. "I haven't been able to do that since I started coaching. ... This allows football to be a big part of my life but not an all-consuming part."

I was just watching Best Damned Sports. Tony Romo was being interviewed and I noticed something. I owe Katy an apology.
He has a very infectous smile, you are 100% correct. I noticed he also has a little of that Elvis thing going on with the upper lip when he speaks.

They were teasing him about a GQ spread he has just done.
Ummmm, yooooohoooo, Level? Are you here ? I suggest you run out and get yourself a copy. He did one of those farm scenes, just like Tom Brady's farm/goat scene. It is just as funny the second time around.

He had some interesting thoughts on Parcells. All in all I liked him.  I was pretty impressed with him. Very down home like, despite his recent rise to fame amongst the beautiful people. And a good sense of humor.

How are the Steelers adjusting to their new coach?

What were your final thoughts on season II of Big Love?

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (8/30/2007 8:46:38 AM)

The Steelers players will come around.  There's a new sheriff in town, they are adults and it is time to adjust to the new lay of the land.  I hope to see the Steelers in the playoffs, actually I just want to see a new and improved Ben and I will be happy.  So far so good...

I think the series is going a bit too over the top.  And I am disappointed that it has taken on too dramatic a turn.  I think there are too many story lines (especially with the UEB and compound stuff) going on and it's taking away from the focus of the poly family.

I think they want to juxtopose the ups-downs of polagamy in the compound v. "the free world." Each presents two totally different sets of problems and challenges.

As for football, I see the Browns turning a corner this year. Jamal Lewis won't remind anyone of his glory days, but if the OL protects Quinn --- he'll win the NFL's Rookie of the Year AWARD.
