FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Randy Moss strolled through the Patriots' locker room with a smile and without a limp.
When it came time for the start of Wednesday's practice, though, he was a no-show — again.

The New England wide receiver is one of several key players who, because of physical woes or contract problems, haven't practiced much, if at all, this summer.

Two former Pro Bowl players, defensive lineman Richard Seymour and wide receiver Troy Brown, have been on the physically unable to perform list since training camp started. Cornerback Asante Samuel has held out since camp began for a new contract.

T Brown has been running routes since the end of last week in practice, so I think he will be OK.
Randy Moss < shivers >. What can I say ? You all know my opinion from the day we acquired him.

PS: Psssssssssssssssst, Level ?
Did you hear the little spawn was born today ?
Katy should be along soon to offer her warm, heartfelt Congrats.
Right after she gets her head out of the toilet, and wipes her mouth.[8D]

I can assure you that when Romo unleashes a bomb to TO or Glenn for the season's first TD, I will NOT say "oh, wasn't that precious?" [:D]

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (8/22/2007 6:21:14 PM)

Actually, I was going to do a solo thread on the new baby, so if you were working and tired when you got home, it would stand out like a sore thumb.[:D] After all, I promised you I would tell you as soon as I knew. But, I really didn"t want to clutter up the board with nonsense.
I'm glad it is all over.. now we can get back to football up here.

And Level.. of course you would not say that...but you may say:
Boy, doesn't TO look precious when he stretches out for that long bomb.[8D]

Don't worry, I do check this thread periodically.  Never know when they may be some good stuff hidden away in here.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - It's a boy for Bridget Moynahan and New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady
The actress gave birth to the baby in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Moynahan's publicist Christina Papadapoulos said in a statement.

Now that Vick has been suspended indefinitely, what are the chances that he will go away quietly?

PlayfulOne -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (8/25/2007 11:26:21 AM)

Sadly none,  he will go kicking and screaming trying to tell everyone how sorry he is and oh how he has changed.

I am so tired of hearing people talk about how he should get another chance after his "mistake"

When the defensive lineman "Little" killed someone in a drunk driving accident that was a mistake,  one many of us especially when we were younger could easily have found ourselves in,  I'll be the first to raise my hand I that  was that young and stupid once

When Michael Irvin got busted in a room full of hookers and cocaine, that was a stupid mistake.  I am also sure there are a number of us who having that kind of money and status could of found ourselves in the same spot.

When Jamal Lewis went to jail it wasn't for actually dealing drugs himself, it was for making a phone call and connecting two people (before he was even in the nfl btw), that was a mistake.  Hey I never sold anything but I did a lot of connecting people together when I was younger, I could of had a companion cell

Vick?, that was no mistake that was a complete disdain for life, brutal torture and killing all for his personal amusement.  Hopefully he will get the permanent ban, the gambling issues alone were enough under the rules to merit it.

The season-long assault on Edgerrin James' dignity had just crossed the line from misdemeanor to felony, and the Arizona Cardinals' unhappy halfback made a spontaneous and atypical decision. Half an hour after carrying four times – four times! – in the Cardinals' 31-26 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings last Nov. 26, the fallen All-Pro stood in the Metrodome parking lot and uttered a two-word expletive that translated roughly to "Peace out."

Instead of boarding the team bus and heading to the airport with the rest of the Cardinals, James took a ride on the party bus that Vikings tackle Bryant McKinnie, a fellow University of Miami alum, had commissioned to transport him and his crew to and from the game. Back at McKinnie's house, James got on the phone and booked a red-eye flight to Miami, Monday's mandatory practice be damned.

He didn't bother to call any of his Cardinals bosses to give them the news. After a concerned team official repeatedly phoned James to find out why he hadn't shown up for the flight home, James didn't call back.

"I sent a text," he said.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after crashing his Lamborghini and abandoning it alongside an expressway on the city's North Side, Illinois State Police said.

After meeting with police Monday afternoon, Briggs was also cited for failure to give immediate notice of an accident and improper lane usage, said Master Sgt. Luis Gutierrez.

While watching coverage of Vick's guilty plea, I realized that I'm looking forward to when he gets sued by his prison "girlfriend" for giving him herpes. Do ya think he'll use the Ron Mexico alias again, or will he try another country?

I agree, and think Romo will continue his development into one of the better QBs in the league.

Tony Romo will be much better, once they get him a real starting running back. Julius Jones is just brutal. He leaves a lot of yardage on the field, and tripped once and accidentally made a block. Barber is a solid number two guy, who would be better with a better guy in front of him.

I want the Cowboys to make a run, but just don't see it until they upgrade at the running back position. Fortunately, Dallas has Cleveland's pick next year. McFadden to the rescue in '08.

I predict Ron, errrrr, Vick, will end up in Sweden, running a colonic therapy studio.

Seriously, I hope he believes what he said yesterday.

I'm sure he didn't really "trip" but pretended to, to lull his foes into a sense of complacency. [X(]

What he said yesterday was what he had to say, in order to gain the possibility of less prison time.  This stuff didn't come to him on his own, he's paying for legal advice and being told exactly how to act and exactly what to say.

Well sure, but sometimes, words spoken can sink in, and for his sake, maybe he'll recognize some truth in them.
