I have no idea whom I support for the Republican nomination at this point, but I agree 100% with everything you said here. Your key phrase is "anyone better than Obama." All I really care about regarding the Republican nominee is that he or she beats Obama, and beats him soundly. I want a landslide that makes Reagan's wins look like Bush/Gore. Whoever proves that he/she can do that first gets my vote.

Sure, I would vote for Michelle Bachman.  She can't do any worse.  I would take Bachman over Hillary, O'scumbag, Kerry, Gore, Pelosi, Reid, that looneytoons Dr. from Vermont.  I would take her over any of the democrat party "leadership".  The question that has to be asked is how will she be better than Obama.  Anyone who is even remotely conservative would be better than Obama and, hopefully, wouldn't be such a corrupt piece of shit to use a partner in crime at the federal reserve to hold interest rates down through the election cycle.  Anyone that believes in living within their means would probably make a better president than O'scumbag.  It is his ideology that has made him one of the worst presidents in American history and he is a slave to it.

So...what would Bachman do?  End abortion?  No.  No president has much of an impact on that issue...have you noticed?  End Don't Ask, Don't Tell?  Nope.  Radically expand gun rights or take gun rights away?  Nope.  Take all of the bullshit social agenda garbage out of the equation.  What you would get with Bachman is a conservative president that would probably be very receptive to a large tax reformation for both corporations and individuals.

Obama has rendered this question irrelevant at this point.

mnottertail -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/10/2011 12:13:29 PM)

number two there............just for shits and giggles. just passed a debt ceiling, made the papers, the number is 14.3  the rest is blue sky asswipe in  the chart, and since that aint a piss cutter, especially what it shows between 9 tril and 12 tril sort of back there.......

and the actual total public debt being 14.5 trill.

I expect nothing else there is going to be truthful, but you as a teabagger, neo-con whatever should quit oogling the fuckheaded graphs and sort of pay attention to the actual numbers, and then ..... anyways it was all over the papers and other media, I think even Faux Nuze might have mentioned it in passing.

But I guess since the house constitutionally originates all spending and revenue bills that is where we need to put out somebodies eye........

Now the current crop has been in the house damn near 7 months hah?  WTF?

.....take a deep breath, this really can't be good for your blood pressure.

I'd try and lay out my point for you Sanity, but judging on your recent posts, you've stopped trying to debate.

I do have a point, I am not lost. There are people on these boardsd who broadly agree with much of your platform, who even admire your passion in defending your position, who also agree with me that the political debate in the US has become so polarised that it is in danger of becoming a civil war.

This is not a good thing, no matter how much you hate your sitting president.

For one thing, Lucy, why should the Republicans who can win this thing be spending any political capital or money right now?  President Obama is doing a pretty good job of beating himself at the moment.

Have a peek at the polls, but be sure to scroll down for the timeline graph too.

Lucylastic -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/11/2011 6:36:22 AM)

so you think the current list of wannabes is so bad that you feel that someone is just waiting in the wings to blast them all to hell?
I dont have your confidence Rich.
Im not surprised his ratings are low, are you?? considering the economy, the job situation and the clusterfuck with housing and mortgages and wall street, its a hugest clusterfuck EVER and no one else is trying to put it together, of course his numbers are bad. No one else could have made any of it better, and probably would have made it a lot worse.

I knew the right didnt want this four year stretch before he was elected. and nothing since has convinced me otherwise.
No body wants to help the country, they just want to decimate the other side, and blame the" kenyan moooozlem terrorist".
its fucking atrocious what your parties have done. They all need a fucking good hiding and no damn supper.
Send em all back to kindergarten to learn their jobs and not line their pockets on the backs of those they look down on

Funny that some guy was re-elected in 2004 with the same approval numbers.

TheHeretic -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/11/2011 7:04:51 PM)

And Reagan got into the 30's before coming back for his 1984 landslide re-election, RML.  The fact remains that right now, Obama is doing a better job of beating himself than any of the potential competitors for the job could do to him.

slvemike4u -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/11/2011 7:15:36 PM)

Being that there are no actual "potential competitors" this is not that big a problem. Were there an actual opponent in the picture Obama might have cause for concern.....given the dearth of,and absence of any quality there,Obama still has plenty of opportunity to secure reelection
