"damaged by the vast left wing conspiracy"... Lol.Every time I think I have your idiocy measured you go and exhibit a whole 'nother level of stupid to the equation.Has the left wing conspiracy placed all of those batshit crazy quotes into her mouth ? Is the conspiracy responsible for her far right wing positions?
All the left needed to do with her,and her sister in craziness Palin was repeat, report and allow it to simmer.

mnottertail -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/9/2011 9:16:34 AM)

She was damaged by the fact that she has a blown fuckin head pipe, end of the joke right there.

No other impetus was needed or provided.

No, slvemike, its the fact that the liberalis media doesn't report to the population of American in the 'correct' and 'GOP-approved' information about her. We must submit to FOX News for all our information....because....they are ALWAYS 'Fair and Balanced' with the news. If Americans started thinking for themselves, it would be much harder for the GOP to control us. And they need control in order to turn the nation into a mere shadow of its former glory. When was the last time you heard of a tea party member actually give a damn about his/her fellow Americans?

subrob1967 -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/9/2011 10:16:03 AM)

I like where she stands on most issues, but like most of you, I hate her religious affiliation. She proudly wears her religion on her shoulder, and dares people to knock it off.

Edited to add... That's why she wouldn't get my vote, I'd rather swallow piss and vote for Palin.

Blame Reagan when in his 1980 campaign he continually and repeatedly asked 'are you...are YOU better off then you were 4 years ago ?' He didn't ask the electorate if they thought the country was better off, but were you better off.

This led to the decade of...me. The age of greed took hold and America since...has failed its people and it is certainly no longer 'morning in America' anymore.

I'm generally keen to blame Reagan (particularly for handing the Republican party over to the religious right, which has done your country no favours at all in the long run), but the whole me decade* thing was more a natural progression from '70s narcissism than anything else. Saint Deficit might have exploited it, but that's one thing you can't really blame on him, sadly.

*(thirty years and counting, rather than a decade: I don't remember a sudden death of conspicuous consumption in 1990...)

Nonsense. There hasnt been a time in the history of the world when people wouldnt answer the "country" version base on their own situation. What led to the "me" generation is the piss poor parenting of the "if it feels good do it" generation.

Hillwilliam that is,by my count at least, multiple incidents of agreeing with willbur syndrome....run,don't walk to your nearest mental health care professional.

(Speaking of which there is a Napa Valley craft IPA that is really good, I forget the name, but the hotel Im staying at tomorrow night used to serve it on "Managers night", so maybe Ill get lucky)

You do realize that virtually everything you enjoy is created by liberals? I highly doubt that the brewers of that fine Napa Valley IPA would ever want to share a drink with you.

Moonhead -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/9/2011 5:59:47 PM)

It's a beer, not a blow job, Wilbur. I doubt that paying for an IPA counts as "getting lucky", even in cloud cuckoo land.

Has the left wing conspiracy placed all of those batshit crazy quotes into her mouth ?

That's not quite how it works, Mike.  If she (or any candidate from the "we hates them" list) says 14 sensible things in a speech, and one truly idiotic one, the focus will be on that idiotic statement.  If there is a choice between airing some dumbass comment from her, or a fine zinger on the Obama administration from another candidate, Michelle will get the airtime.  The media template is that Republicans are crazy and extreme, so the most extreme people and craziest statements are what they look for, and what they give the coverage to.

There's plenty of time between now and the election.  I'm sure bias will up for a more detailed discussion along the way.

slvemike4u -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/9/2011 6:56:29 PM)

Wait one fucking minute, the media should focus on the fact that she said 14 sensible things....when the fucking story is the damm batshit crazy thing she inserted in the middle of all that sensibleness ?
How exactly does that work?
Yanno Rich when I was a young'un I had two very good friends( we still hang out together...not bad seeing how we know each other since we are 12) One got a car before the rest of us....and took the second for a driving lesson....well friend 2 was doing real good for about 55 minutes....somewhere around the 56 th minute he drove friend 1's car into the back of a parked truck. Now he likes to say he was doing real good up till that little accident....But friend 1 and I still bust his balls about that 56 th minute.Just how things are.

I'm curious. Does anyone here think she would be an excellent President, on her own merits, not just "better than Obama"?

Anybody would be better than Baroccoli OLiar... Hillary, Bachmann, my dog, etc. -- I'm not really a Bachmann supporter for Prez, though.

Lucylastic -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/9/2011 7:04:44 PM)

smiles I find this amusing RIch, seeing as how many times "57 states" has been used in threads here in the past couple of months alone.
But yes its the media deciding what to put up, Newsweeek has done its job, not by being unfair(alone) but by selling copies and reinforcing the old maxim, theres no such thing as bad publicity.
Did they actually prove the photoshop accusation?? or is it just that they didnt airbrush her enough thats the issue?

TheHeretic -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/9/2011 7:24:35 PM)

Right, Lucy.  Because the people who post in these threads have the same level of influence as the ones who write in the national news departments of the big league media...

As a free speech kind of guy, this issue matters to me far beyond the partisan  level.  There are different outlooks on the world, and of how it works.  When people from one side of that split come to dominate the delivery of news to the population, that becomes a problem.

slvemike4u -> RE: Do any conservatives here support Michelle Bachmann? (8/9/2011 7:30:42 PM)

Someone tell Faux news that they are highlighting the wrong stories....and putting the wron slant on things [:D]

And you think Fox is the dominant source of news delivered to the people, Mike?  All by itself, the CBS Evening News, the lowest rated (and deserving of far worse!) of the network news shows has a million or so more veiwers every night than Fox's 6:00 hour.

Now we'll see what happens when Fox decides it is time to replace the daily Simpson's re-runs, but until then, not the same ballpark.
