i think we over rate love as a criteria of a d/s relationship perhaps contentment should be given more prominence thoughts?

Well, contentment is a bit more universal and more easily isolated in definition. Either contentment or fulfillment both are more paramount than "love" (as "love" only becomes a vehicle for some people to reach the former two).

Why should anyone consider giving up love in any relationship? "Contentment" is nothing more than another word for settling for less than what you really want.
