Slave, actually Jacksonville is the first place I've ever been that requires you to register your cats like dogs.  You have to prove they've had at least a rabies shot, and if they go outside, the tags have to be on a collar.  But I agree....people who abuse cats should be punished.  And here they are.....I've seen articles in the paper about people who were sentenced to jail time for abusing/killing kittehs.

My kitties go outside every once in awhile, but it's on leashes and I stay with them because of the buzzards and hawks and eagles around.  Stray dogs aren't too big of a problem here, but my cats don't understand that not all dogs are nice like theirs was.  They all grew up with doggies for a brother.  I almost lost Smooch in Arizona, and he put me thru a tense 24 hours til he returned home.....thirsty and hungry, but otherwise no worse for the adventure!  I'd be devastated if anything happened to any of them.

Register a cat?  How dumb.  You better hope my cat did not hear that!

You're an angel XXMystique. I'll bet the little souls really brighten your day as mine brighten my day. I rescued them from the streets. Cats
are so abused, it's good to know some people care. Wish there were stricter laws against cat haters. Seriously, wish we could kick their asses somehow. All blessings for you and your babies
(as I refer to mine even though some are already aged).

I like cats too, but mine just get in the way during sleep and ruin conversation with females by jumping around like lunatics.  I should've gotten fish.

If the Kittehs would allow it (and I could AFFORD it), and I was moving somewhere other than GA, I'd want one of these: http://animal.discovery.com/videos/cats-101-savannah.html

Amos is being invisible again.  Cashie is currently on the desk next to me, and chewing my hair (which reminds me: time to trim his toes)

Sweet little NS....didn't anyone tell you that's just what cats do?  Personally, I like cat people alot, and as for the bed, do what I did....get a king sized one.....then you'll have room!

Cats are supposed to wear funny little tophats and monacles while reading the newspaper and discussing the political situation in Poland.

At least that's what happens when I do acid.

Right now, Professor Orange & Hemingway are in their deluxe carriers chillin after their ordeal of moving from one side of Chicagoland to the other. I tried to take pictures of them, but they're not goin for it yet. Lugging them into the house like to do me in. Their combined weight is 38 lbs, & that's after losing 2 lbs each on the Catkins diet. Their former mommy gave me everything for them: the carriers, cat box, 3+ weeks' of food, kitty litter, beds, etc. All I need to get them is some toys. They are beautiful boys. I can't wait til they settle in here & I can get some pics of them.

Both woke up from their naps when I took the salmon out of the oven. I offered them some tidbits, but Misty turned her nose up at hers because of the teriyaki glaze. It didn't bother Angel at all and she happily gobbled down her tidbits.

Summers litter is currently going over the rainbow bridge...three of them she has born already and they were way too young and had no chance...they would have been due in 10-14 days time approximately and were still completely naked instead of the furry way in which they were expected to be born...wasn't meant to be this time

Thanks SweetDommes and MysticFireTopaz, its just incredible cruel when you see that they are born alive, they do live for a few moments in your hand, the first one even did twice very low volumed noises when he opened his mouth, but there is nothing you can do, as they simply aren't developed far enough, so even when you give them some drops of milk, its obvious they weren't in the stage yet to suckle. Seems those 3 were boys, and I don't know the remaining ones as I gave summer her favour to go outside in her garden den, which I can't access...its a den between the properties here.

She just came back inside and is eating now. She appears to be better now , though needless to say I will keep an eye on her, in case she needs the vet and in case she remains to appear ok she will get a check up soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your litter, Phoenix......but Nature has a way of taking care of things.  Like you said, it wasn't meant to be.  I hope Summer doesn't get depressed.....I've heard about females losing litters and then doing so.

My other little feral female is pregnant too....she's starting to puff up.  I had planned to take Sissy to get her done tomorrow, but ran out of $$ after paying bills.  It sucks, really, if I take them in a trap, they charge the feral rate of $20, if I take them in a carrier, then it's $60 because they consider them a pet, not feral.  But all three have been trapped before, Toby got hurt badly in one, so they won't go near them.  I tried to explain this to the lady on the phone, I'll try again once I get them there.  You'd think that they'd make it easy to get the ferals done to avoid any more kittens, but dayum......but we'll see.

Thanks soul...and yes it sucks...what annoys me is that last month I did not spay urmel due to thinking its better that way as I didnt want to leave summer off food one evening due to him getting fixed the next day (as nobody can have food, sort of, the evening before he gets done). If I would have get him fixed, she probably would not have miscarried as then he would not have kept attacking her due to his hormones driving him nuts...anyhow, I know it doesnt help to beat myself up over it...as right now many aspect sucks as you know...

I will try to to get him and the kittens daddy fixed soon, to make sure summer can have a rest without them harrassing her and right now my plan is during the summer at some point to mate her most likely with a turkish van cat...and then get her spayed afterwards...one more happy litter for her and then give her peace about having litter. And then next year to have one litter with bengal cats, once my life is stable again (hopefully) and then that will be it with my furry family...thats approx. my plan now...

But for now...we just take the peace here and take one day after another.

She is in a very bad mood this evening and I hope that this is "only" due to what she went through today and not due to any complications...I doubt the later considering how well she delivered one after another, but needless to say I keep an eye on here...in case she needs the vet as a matter of urgency...which right now I have to try to avoid if I can as you know.

But I try to let her have one happy litter and then put her multiplying genes to rest after that. We will see.

The shame is that in the last days she was much closer again than in in the past weeks which was nice, her seeking the attention...right now all she wants is her peace...poor lil summer...so lets hope that in autumn we live in the desired big flat or house and her nurturing a nice sized litter at last.

Well, Misty has had 15 years to train me properly and still hasn't succeeded yet. Actually, I think she's concerned about keeping her svelte 5-lb. figure and that's why she's so picky about what she eats. Angel, on the other hand, likes being voluptuous and needs to eat more to maintain that look.
