Status: offline 		This is nuts!  I ordered the dress for my son's wedding, paid 19.00 extra for the rush shipping, and it was in Anchorage, Alaska on the 18th.  Now for some idiotic reason ,UPS sent it to freaking Koeln, Germany!!!!!  I leave in 3 days for the wedding, and still have to get it altered.  What's the sense of paying more for express shipping if it still takes a week to get here?   I'm really hoping that it's some sort of clerical error, and it's really still here on this side of the pond!  The first time I ordered it, I measured me, and compared it to their sizing chart, and it was too small.  So I ordered the next size up, which is huge according to their measurements, but guessing that it's going to run small, I'm hoping all I have to do is get it hemmed.  And I have to get shoes yet.......I think white flats.......the toe still looks ugly, even tho it's healing.

Status: offline 		Well, the dress is stateside, on it's way to Tennessee as we speak.  I hope it will be here tomorrow before I go to work......at this rate, I'll be dropping itoff someplace, tell them to lop of 12" from the hem, and pick it up before I leave town.  The only other option is take it with me and find a place in IL to do it.....we'll see.  12" will make it ballerina length, which I think is a good length for wearing it just about anywhere else.  I only hope the top fits.......

Status: offline 		Wishing you all the luck with the dress Soul.  Hope it fits the way you want it to.  It's a special wedding for you and that's where to focus.  You'll look lovely either way, you're the mother of the groom.  Or was it the bride?  I'm up too late, I'm tired and I'm not making much sense.

Status: offline 		The groom....one of two moms there actually, my ex remarried, and his 2nd wife was the greatest about my son.  It's going to be strange actually, seeing all of the ex's family again...it will be the first time that my parents and his have ever met....they never met while we were married!  I'm hoping it won't be too awkward.

Status: offline 		wanna hear weird? at my daughter's wedding, my mother flew over from the states for her first grandchild's wedding, as well as one of my brothers. my ex wouldn't come NEAR me, and yet he singled my mom and then my brother out to have long chats with. one can only assume it wasn't about ME! and my ex didn't want to associate with my family during the 20 yrs we were married (easy enough as we were mostly overseas). still haven't quite figured out the logic of that.

Simple solution, call FBI, say you suspect your exes to be involved in domestic terrorism or some well known terrorist group, and make their lives miserable.

Status: offline 		I'm Canadian, so the FBI won't be able to help me.  And since I got really nasty with the last 2, I haven't heard word boo.  I guess they finally figured out that I *do* have a backbone and that the idiots pushed my volcano button.  Oooooooohhhhhhh, not a smooth move on the part of those 2 exlax.

Status: offline 		Well, the dress is here, and I washed it, the fancy "cotton viscose" material is actually rayon!  We have shrinkage!  I won't have to get it hemmed or altered!  Now I just have to iron the darn thing!  I HATE IRONING! So, I can wear flats after all!

I have my list of things to remember to take, and so I'm just counting down the time before I can hit the road!  This is going to be so strange......I still think of him as my little guy....I see all these different stages in my mind when he was smaller.......to imagine him getting married and really building his life is just strange, but awesome!  I'll just have to stifle the urge to call him "My BBBBAAAAYYYYYYBBBBEEEEEEE!"

Status: offline 		I'm sure he'd be thrilled to hear his mama yelling in the middle of the ceremony, "Noooooooooooo, he's still my baaaaabyyyyyyyyyyyyy he's too young to get marriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiied!!!!!".

And yup on rayon, it shrinks all to hell, that's why I won't buy anything made from that farkin material.

Status: offline 		I have a spray bottle of that stuff, it really is a miracle worker on wrinkles.  I should know, I have the shirts to prove it.  And I finally found my iron today.  Not that I don't have another 36 or so boxes plus milk crates to unpack. Dammit, I hate having someone try to help me unpack, they don't know where I want stuff, but I also hate having to do so much by myself, I get overwhelmed too easily.

Well, the passports have arrived just in time, and we have our cruise to Alaska booked and paid for. 3 weeks till we sail - I am SOOOO excited!
