Thanks guys.....the sight of him laying in the street, writhing in pain and then motionless just keeps popping into my mind.  The kittehs here are wondering why mom is crying, KB is trying to comfort me.  Squeaks stops me to give me hugs....it's amazing!  I just keep asking myself why he was in the engine....it's nice here, not cold at all....63 degrees.  And I always wait before I put the car in gear to give anyone under it or nearby to get out of the way.  I don't know why it was his time, or why I ended it here for him.....I've only ever hit a squirrel and rabbit before, and had an hawk run into my car, and everytime I cried.

This just sucks......[:(]

Hugs for Soul. The no kill shelters are full, and people prefer to hope an animal will survive feral than give it to a kill shelter. The local shelter up here is now trying to keep animals or foster them out until the surrendering family can reclaim them.

As sad as it sounds but it does make sense a bit to try to enable that pet to stay alive, though on the other hand it also doesn't tell if the animal really has a bigger chance of survival. When I visited Mr. R in Oklahoma I have seen a white fluffy big dog who was run over on the side of a main road, which was an awful image to see.

Thanks guys.....I still want to cry every time I drive by the spot.

I'm going to look into a trap and neuter program here....I can grab at least 3 of the little guys here, I feed them all, one is actually a great little pet already....I call him Toby, and he already tries to come in.  His sister, called Sissy, is still a little shy, as is little Mama.  If I can at least get them spayed and neutered, aybe I canfind home for at least Toby and Sissy.  If not, I'll still feed them here, but they won't be making kittens.

owie...I just snorted chili thru my nose....Squeaks just snuck up on Smooch while he was cleaning himself and touched him....he jumped about 2 feet!  Of course, I laughed my butt off.....so he's off pouting.  She walked over to me with a neat little smirk on her face......[;)]

Indeed...they couldn't be further away from the truth [:D]

Last night curry was interested on the wool I used for crocheting, started to do my bag now when I went to bed (posted his pic on the cat thread) and that made me realise that he really doesn't know that much, playing with wool as that wasn't part of is life yet [:D])

Gosh I love my furry critters [:)]

i'm in far north NSW now, up by the queensland border. i've seen more rain since christmas when i moved here, than i've seen in 3 yrs in south australia
we've had minor flooding compared to QLD and west australia, though.

it's unbelievable what's going on with the weather and water over here....

you've been missed, sweetie! take care of yourself and your family if you need to bug out (lol, your military roots are showing)...
