Morning everyone...

We are avoiding Walmart.  I am ordering gift cards instead (thankee secret admirer for last year's gift and this idea...).

As for me solely, I do take bribes of money, foot massages, gift cards, some shirabi.  photos are optional.

I am trying to be the Domme this holiday.   So far...no takers...[:(]

That is fine, but you will need to drive to Colorado.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 8:18:38 AM)

No problem.....I'll just hafta buy winter clothes....all I have now are tank tops, t-shirts and shorts!  [:)]

Can't have me freezing off my ta-ta's and stuff!

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 8:25:34 AM)

The MALL????  You're kidding, right?  I won't go near anyplace retail from now til the 1st of January!  The only reason I do Walmart is because they are open 24/7, and once the original seasonal stupidity is over and done with, it's back to the 3 am shopping trips.  I was sorta hoping that I'd be working by now, at least be able to do something for Christmas presents.  {sigh}

I see that Walmart covered their asses this year by not closing at all......prevents those nasty trampling deaths which sooooo put a damper on those annoying Christmas shoppers!  Of course, it sucks if you had to work it....whatever happened to the sanctity of Thanksgiving.....it used to be time spent with family, watching the Macy's parade, gorging on rich, fatty foods and vegging in front of the football games on TV.  I really hate what commercialization has done to this season.

Either that, or I'm getting old and long for the "good old days"!  [>:]

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 9:05:24 AM)

I feel the same way, Soul.  Give me a computer and a credit card and I am set.  No need to get bumped not, no pickpockets, no awful mall food court.

Brother M is dressing up as Blue Santa this year. Got him the fabric and patterns Wednesday and it be finished just before Christmas.  I want to see pictures of this after I get back home.

I lost count on the peace afghan, just have to count and mark it again.

I decided that I am going to ProDomme this year. My tribute should be money, gift cards, fudge, turduckin (with cajan seasoning.).

WOOOOHOOOOO!

You will just have to share a bed with Butterhead.  By the hotel has an indoor pool.

thornhappy -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 3:04:24 PM)

I had a nice day...cleaned a bunch of stuff off my desk (compliments of a fast move-in a year ago), and I made it out of there early.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 3:32:26 PM)

Just been working on the afghan and killing tortoises in a game...(yells about that they are fake to Mom for not understanding the game)

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 4:31:16 PM)

Okay. . . so how does a person teach a three year old about Santa?

So far I am starting with A Year Without a Santa Claus.

Other than the specials, I have no idea.

KMsAngel -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 4:59:45 PM)

depends if you want her to know about santa or saint nicholas. i found when mine were little, they knew all about santa, but had no idea about saint nicholas. so i told them those stories. and that helped to explain the gift giving, and other traditions. i then told them that santa himself was an invention of coca cola.

st nicholas/santa claus

Oooo!  Good point Steven!  I bet she will like that as there is a dog (Max) in it.

KMsAngel ~ In our family growing up, Santa was the spirit that you enacted in giving and sharing to others.  Meeting Mrs. Claus was when you met someone that did that for you.  So mostly it is a "This is Santa. . . and this is what you do to BE Santa," kind of thing.

We all have our charities of choice that we support all year around, but this is the time of year that we send things or money to support each others charities. If any of that makes sense.

KMsAngel -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 6:06:01 PM)

you're ahead of the pack, i'd think, then aylee. lotsa people seem to have such vague ideas that there is a deeper meaning beyond gifts and what they want.

the fact that you're concerned about ways of reinforcing this attitude to life in your daughter at her young age says much about your goodness as a mother [:)] well done.

Shadow-tiger -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 6:07:32 PM)

So did anyone (besides holly) wind up with any Black Friday horror/disaster experiences? Share! [:D]

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (11/26/2010 6:15:03 PM)

No stories on this end.  Been cyber-window-shopping so I can get the right microwave  a week before Christmas.  Bo's microwave has bitten the dust (if they would just listen to me about the fuse in the machine, I wouldn't  save them a new microwave).
