ORIGINAL: NakedGirlScout Which one should I sign up for? I prefer easier rather than more difficult games. I prefer not to spend oodles of time farming for gold or equipment. I enjoy the fantasy roleplay aspects over the technical aspects of a game. I prefer that a game allows me to pause in some way, without my coming back to find my character has been killed while I was AFK. Which of these are a better fit for me? If "neither", does anyone know of a better game of this type? EverQuest is far, far more difficult than WoW. WoW requires a bit less time, I think, but both are time whores. EQ's going to show you more realistic lore than WoW. EQ has a "Gate" spell for casters that allows them to teleport back to a predetermined "bind point". Both EQ and WoW have guards in different areas where you can rest at- WoW provides more of these. EQ has areas where you can simply rest, though, without monsters being an issue. I've played both extensively. EQ's a lot more realistic, but a complete time whore. I think they've alterred it since I quit a couple years back to be much better about this, but I can't promise you it's fixed or not. WoW is.. okay. After playing EQ a lot, then going to WoW, this has to be said: WoW is easy. Very, very easy. It's aimed at a massive audience, many of who are very young. You won't find any semblence of challenge in the game until the late levels, and, even in the end-game (which you likely won't see if you don't sink a lot of time into it), it's still pretty damn easy.
