It's all going to pan out fine, as he'll sort out the happiness problem when he calls it a day.

You're being sarcastic right? You don't truly believe we will ever ever be happy with our government surely?

What's wrong with Cameron? fair enough, he thinks millionairres are ordinary tax-payers and is a distant relation of the monarchy, but on the plus side, it's going to be one, big fuckin' superficial paradise.

Rumour has it, his mates reckon he never even mentioned politics until his 30s and he doesn't go anywhere without his spin doctor - the king of talking heads. Problem is, the rumour has some substance. I'll make a prediction that those who hate Blair for lacking a pair of bollocks will be hanging from the rafters and chanting his name to come back after 4 years of Cameron. It's going to get worse.

Having said all of that, I can't believe anyone would allow Blair to have an impact on their well-being.

Edited to add: the last sentence makes no sense, as Blair's policy is the subject matter, so last sentence withdrawn.

I didn't SAY ANYTHING about it being ONLY A BRIT forum; I merely asked, why should any of your problems be an interest to anyone of US. So, I gather, if it's Brit; no one should be allowed to enter into conversation, just keep out of anything that is Brit. Like that sailor thread. Okay, I'll piss off then.

BTW, if anything that applies on these forums, is USofA, why don't you all do the same; keep your Brit opinions to yourselves, stay only in your own threads.

LOL,

Not everyone can translate Rodney Dangerfield humor, the Brits I think, would pass most of it up.

Ferryman - any American who knows the Brit usage of "piss off" in the context you used it, is more than entitled to contribute in my opinion. So dont piss off, and dont get pissed off either.

This is the problem with modern politics, nothing of substance can be discussed. We know longer have politics, we have management of the market economy. None of the three main parties any longer have ideological foundations.

I liked Rodney, he did have a way with words, as did Heney Youngman. I gues you are right however, The Brit style is more like dressing in drag; after all, they are the queen's men, aren't they.

I get no respect.

Well ya know, missy....I thought this was an open forum, wherein anyone who cared to, could participate. EVEDENTLY, not I, when it comes to you Brits.  You all, just seem to think it is your entitlement to butt in, where ever you wish.....but let anyone else do the same, then it's an, up in your face...it's a British problem, so why are you, who are not British, butting in.

I merely applied, just exactly as you Brits do; and I am rebuked ????

Please, just, just, Bugger off.

Is that right?

Blair's Britain is the 51st State so you have every right to butt in as an American.

Though who needs a right to butt in, the idea is that free speach rules or at least that is my take on the issue.

Blair's Britian, the 51 state ???? Would you care to elaborate on that?

Look, All in all, I never said nor ever implied, that this forum, was only for americans, or British, or anyone in particular. You have posted some very interesting posts, and I appreciated what I read, educated me, informed me, gave me another view other than what we americans are subjected to. All very well.

However, when a person replies with only a 'put down', like, it's our business, so why are you commenting. As you, yourself did, in another thread, of the saliors, who were kidnapped. It is rather, insluting, and well, stupid....especially in what is supposed to be a free forum, open opinions invited. I simply asked, what has British economics have to do with any of US. And, what kind of response did I get. No explanations, nothing of any value, but rather a 'Butt Out' type of replie, I didn't know this was only supposed to be about americans,  it's our business; no inslut was meant, just a question. What has your economic distress have to do with US?

So, how is Britian our 51st state? Will you give me a civil replie, an informative replie, of your opinion, or, will it be an agorgant typical sueto superiority, cracking wise replie.

If it is the latter...then piss off, bugger off,....who the hell cares.
In the words of our late, great, poorly lamented hero president..."I'm the president, and what are you going to do about it?'

Ferryman - on behalf of my subjects I apologise for any offence caused and invite you to participate in our Brit threads as you will and are able, and trust that this matter is now ended.

More seriously though, I shall be driving past the American cemetery in Cambridge tomorrow. There are thousands of graves there that mean you have just as much right to comment on Brit affairs as we have to comment on American affairs by way of our earlier shared history.

Britain unquestioningly follows American foreign policy whether in the interests of Britain or not.

Don't ask me why, I've never been able to figure it out myself.

No, what's been eating away at Blair for the past few years isn't any left-wing policies, its all the dodgy things things he did and said to get Britain into the invasion of Iraq. He used the threat of the Iraqi WMD programme to justify every dodgy thing he did, he said that it was the only reason Britain was going to war, and when people wanted evidence he said we had to trust him on this issue, and then it turned out not to exist.

It's difficult to come back from that. He's supposed to have got religion now.

Hater....

Like Realone, I see the silver lining in that Blair-Bush did the masses a huge favor, becoming more transparent to the intuitive and truly open-minded.
