The government doesn't need to go through your computer to figure out your habits and your life. They know how much money you make, what your job is, if you go to school, if you give money to charity (IRS). They can pull your bank and credit card statements and figure out your spending habits and even what kind of food you eat and what stores you like to shop at. They can pull your driver's license file and see how good a driver you are. They can apparently even sieze your medical documents. Look what happened to Rush Limbaugh. They went in to his doctor's office without a judge's order and not only took his records, but several other people too. Even the ACLU called foul on that one.

The NSA apparently is allowed to tap your phone lines. There is even some that claim they can even tap into your GPS-enabled cell phones (or "On Star" in your car) and track your movements.

So your computer is the least of your worries....

Well, I do recall they ran a brothel in Nevada for awhile.

They took over the Mustang Ranch, due to back taxes, thinking they would take all the profits and hunting down the owner (Joe). It was open for awhile, at least until someone pointed out that by doing so, they were now basically running a brothel. They closed it.
Lot of people were upset when Joe left (had to leave). He used to go around giving out gifts, money and turkeys during the holidays to the needy. There weren't all the programs available then that there are these days.

Why would'nt thy call foul? That is why they are called the American Civil Liberties Union and not the left wing civil liberties union (as many would characterize them) They have a track record of being non partisan. They will stick up for Rush Limbaugh or the Nazi party just as they stick up for Huey Newton and Russell Means.
