Status: offline 		Well, I think for us, ahem, more mature subs/slaves...at least for this one...I prefere someone nearer to my own age because I find I have more in common with him.  Most of the men I know who are close to my age have had similar life experiences than someone 10 or more years younger than me.  And, after all the "fun" is over, I like to hold a conversation with the one on the other end of the flogger.

I don't think there should be any rules about age, and of course you should feel free to seek whomever you like.

However, the issue is whether or not you have the life experience and knowledge to elicit respect from a submissive who is older than you. If the two of you have a dynamic that works, who cares how old you are?

Age is just a number but for me it is also a level of comfort; I had my unmentionables at a young age and as such I am only 16 years older than my oldest.  Therefore it would be akward for me to be with someone who was 30 as they would only be 5 years older than my oldest munchkin.

I know several women my age  (41) and older that have no issues at all being with someone younger than themselves and in fact prefer someone younger.  Patience and persistance, you will eventually find someone perfect for you.

Status: offline 		Since I was seeking a life partner, I wouldn't look at men younger than me. I need a commonality in life experiences. Someone who wasn't born when Kennedy died or was too young to remember that wouldn't match me. Someone younger might have wanted more children or have very young children. I needed someone who understood where I was and what was going on in my life.

An old friend dated a very sweet young man for a while, but he was 15 years younger than her and 15 years older than her daughter. Her daughter was uncomfortable with him and it meant he felt uncomfortable at her house, joining them for Thanksgiving etc. He wasn't ready to settle down, he wanted eventually to have children of his own and all three were relieved when he got a job offer that required him to move. Their lives simply didn't mesh.

When I am approached by a younger person offerng their submission.. because thier only drive is that they "like older dommes".. I have to ask.."so what else do you have to offer" (and I don't mean tribute)
 
For me, there is always a suspision on my part.  That sorry reflection guys came up with "Get an older woman because she'll not tell, not swell and be grateful as hell" just blares in my mind! 
 
Or then I'm expected to "teach" them things.

I have meet girls of 25 that are much more mature and reliable that grown females of 45... and at the contrary, one usually expect from joung people be open minded, try new things,etc...but sudenly you met someone of 50+ that is wonderfully beautiful, inteligent and brave...
Anyway, too far from one age (15+) or too jounger (-15) are dificult to raport with them.

I prefer someone closer to my own age for a LTR.  A few years difference either way is fine with me.
