Having just watched Secretary again, id like to see more 'films' and less, porn.
Can anyone recommend others similar?

With exception to the scene where she was restrained to the spreader bar, serving and entering the room. I thought it was quite boring and a sad representation of a true D/s Power-Exchange. Personally Im looking forward to seeing ''The Pet''. Not that it will be any better, but One can hope.

I did like your references with regards to kink films and porn.

As for "The Pet" (out December 5th) I cant see in anyway that film companies would make a slave/master film seem interesting or give an understanding of the concept of BDSM. They might, but I cant personally see it.

As I said, W/we can only hope. And its certainly been a long time coming. Course I didnt think ''Quills' was very representative of the life of De Sade though either.

Some great movies i recommend.....

Story of O-yes they made a mini series out of it...
Exit to Eden-painful to watch but something sexy about that island
Caligula-Must be unrated version...rated R is not worth it...Have to love it..Rome, Sex, Power, YEAH baby...
Slaves-docu-drama type film about the artist RC plus if you are NYer homage to HELLFIRE-rest in peace
Salo aka 120 days of Sodom-if you can find it..its banned in a lot of countries...good sick sadistic film if you can stand it..
Irreversible-well you get a 20 min rape scene that turned heads at cannes...
Body of Evidence-Madonna candle wax..YEAH
91/2 weeks...classic
Body Double-creepy stalker type..but RELAX!!!..

I've heard of this movie 'The Pet' too, and couldn't find anything that said whether it will be out in theatres or not...will it be played in the 'regular' theatres like you'd find in any shopping centre? Or is it meant to be the kind that's shown in the nonmainstream type theatres?

(Sorry, I've never looked into what the proper names would be for the different types of theatres, hope you can all make sense of it anyhow

)

Oh, also, is "Secretary" you're talking about the same one I'm thinking with James Spader (pretty sure that's his name)?

And I've heard a lot on this site about "Gerald's Game", looked at blockbuster and didn't see it, makes me think either I'm too naive and I can't find it in such a mainstream video store, or that I just didn't spot it so I missed it. I was too embarassed to ask the clerks since I didn't know exactly what the movie would entail

Was Gerald's Game made into a movie? It's based off a Stephen King novel about a woman who is handcuffed to the bed in the mountains and her husband dies in the room with her.

Now I'm starting to have doubts, I'm pretty sure I'd read in at least one thread months back that it was a novel but also a movie. I'd seen the name mentioned a bunch, so it stuck with me.

You may have just solved the mystery of why I can't find the movie

Tried to Google up an answer, and it looks like it was only a possibility that it would be made into a film, aparently if it had it would've starred Nicole Kidman.

Looks like it was only mentioned on various forums, none of the links looked to be directed to any sites for buying the movie.

Now I'm glad I didn't ask it about for two reasons, both of which would've made me look a tad strange

I disagree. It did not try to represent all DS relationships, just theirs. And they had an interesting dynamic (the subject of a recent thread here) of the Dom being afraid to move ahead and the sub having to find ways to show what she wanted and encourage him. I thought it was the first, best mainstream DS movie that was at all realistic.

Also, the japanese film "Audition" is by no means a DS film but there are some pretty intense non-consensual torture scenes done by a hot Asian woman in a rubber apron. But don't say I didn't warn ya. it is very very intense.

Might want to try Kinky Boots, which is a very different but entertaining movie (docudrama) or Preaching to the Perverted.

Audition is fucked up.

As for Secretary, watchin that movie dident exactly help that whole "hate all dominant males" phase I went when coming in. Guy's nose would have been broken 5 times in the first half hour alone.

It's not a movie and I doubt you'll find a copy, but the documentary maker Nick Broomfield made a very good docco called "Fetishes", focussing on NY's Pandora's Box fetish house.

what pissed me off about the secretary is this....why the hell did he have to make them both with psychological problems? it did nothing to further the plot and served only to reinforce societal beliefs that we are all sick individuals.

as for the Pet, apparently the distribution company has pulled out and there will be no theatrical release. I am luck that I am in LA and have met the Director/Writer. There is a one time only theatrical screening in Santa Monica on the 5th. I'm going along with a bunch of friends. Hopefully it will be worth my time.
