I have Rachel's Attic.  It's been awhile since I have seen it, if I remember correctly it didn't go too much into the lifestyle as I would have liked, but most movies don't.

What about "Átame!" by Pedro Almodóvar (Known also as Tie me up!, Tie me down!).
It's a comedy that has a lot of a stockholm syndrome and bondage in it. It's a great movie too.

just saw the Pet today.

i'm sure the people walking on the sidewalk by the theatre were wondering what that HUGE sucking noise was coming from.

yet another movie that reinforces societal views that we are evil, sick, twisted people.  this time we were lumped in together with human trafficers and organ harvesters.

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

LadySnow, I loved Kinky Boots!  A must for everyone, in my book.

has anyone every seen "Irezumi"? It's a japanese film from the early 80's. The female lead submits to having herself tattood by an old master who uses "unorthodox" methods.I guess it's not overtly a bdsm film, but there's something dark and intense about it. The sound of that tattooing needle is something I still remember.

Also, another movie that isn't a specifically lifestyle film, but that I find to be erotically charged is the first ever NC17 rated film, "Henry and June".

Well this is a forum and your welcome to disagree all you like but I could care less. It was weak, watered down, bland and overall poor in representation.

9 1/2 weeks the movie was horrible, especially when you compare it to the book it was based on.
The book was actually a fairly decent D/s novel.  But for the movie they took out all the bondage.

Not a true BDSM book, but I happen to think the scenes are hot, and it's clear who's in charg. The dynamic is interesting - Unfaithful.

Well this was not directed to me and I agree we all can have our opinions. However, I also care what others think and their reasoning. On other message boards that don't work  as well  we end up in endless opinions with nothing to substantiate them. I try to think we are different here. What makes you think it was weak, watered down, etc.? Can you give us specific dialogue trends or plot that make you feel that way?

I found it watered down because it lacked consistency in touching on the structure and intimacy that can exist in a D/s exchange. I will say however, that if society wasnt so judgemental when it comes to things of a kink nature, the filmmakers may have been inclined to be bolder in the films representation.

Having just watched Secretary again, id like to see more 'films' and less, porn.
Can anyone recommend others similar?
Sir and little1

With exception to the scene where she was restrained to the spreader bar, serving and entering the room. I thought it was quite boring and a sad representation of a true D/s Power-Exchange. Personally Im looking forward to seeing ''The Pet''. Not that it will be any better, but One can hope.

I disagree. It did not try to represent all DS relationships, just theirs. And they had an interesting dynamic (the subject of a recent thread here) of the Dom being afraid to move ahead and the sub having to find ways to show what she wanted and encourage him. I thought it was the first, best mainstream DS movie that was at all realistic.

Smythe

I totally agree. We see so much in that movie. First we see Mr. Grey's obvious sense of being uncomfortable and excepting his role. We also see Lee's transformation from kid to woman. Mr. Grey's office is so natural feeling and Lee's home is so plastic and unreal. Everything from the orchild he is raising to the cutting is very deeply rooted in D/s or in certain ways of thinking, if you really think about it. I think it is a beautiful movie. I own it.

I have seen audition. and all I can say is "You think Hostel was bad..........wait till you tick off a cute little oriental chick!"

Doesn't it suck trying to get good kinky porn in Canada?
Almost worth the occasional driving trip down south to stock up.

Also surprised no one's mentioned some of the old classic John Wayne / Maureen O'Hara films ... the spankos love "The Quiet Man" ... and others where he puts her over his knee.

Sorry but that was McClintock not Quiet Man  his son Patrick Wayne was in it. He spanked the characters daughter first then he gave a shovel to McClintock to spank the mother  M. O'hara later.  I have both movies a big John Wayne fan.

Geralds Game, by Stephen King is a much better read.  Yet, the twist is that the bdsm jist of the 'game' has a short beginning and has not much else after the fact to do with bdsm.  The secretary, at first glance is acceptable and so-so, but others are right. In general it is quite dull.

We watched "The Dreamers" last night.  Not really a BDSM movie, but there's some nifty sexy scenes and a little D/s sense to it.  Not a great movie, but worth seeing for the deflowering scene.  Look for the NC-17 version instead of the R-rated theatrical release.
