I kinda don't think the kicker is the reason why the Steelers lost last week (though I was very surprised by the outcome).

The kicker IS the reason why the Jets nearly lost last week, but I guess they're stickin' with him.

Staying healthy is a huge key to success.  sigh  It makes you realize that a football team truly is the sum of its parts.

Go Sweesum (yeah, I know that's not the spelling)!  Glad Steelers have a kicker that fans are cheering.

Did Big Ben confuse Seymour with a college coed then try and whisper sweet nothings in his ear?

Wow, Tennessee probably would have won that game if it wearn't for that one idiot doing the unnessary roughness at the end of the game!
Boy, penaltys sure do lose games for teams!

How much longer is Jeff Fisher going to put up with Vince Young?  Issues.

I don't think for much longer.
Boy that guy on Tennessee made a totally *AMATEUR* mistake! He's supposed to be a professional!

Another nailbiter at the Razor. Colts/Pats always a great game. I used to despise Manning and the Colts, over the last 8 years I have come to have nothing but respect for them and actually like Manning. Win or lose, it is always my favorite reg season game. Today we squeaked it out.

On the Seymour punch... I was shocked, that's not at all like the Seymour I knew here. The adrenaline must have been on overdrive. Bad move by a usually classy player.

Yanno, I have to say...when Jeff Fisher throws Vince Young under the bus, everyone says "Oh that's Jeff Fisher, he's a veteran coach and Vince Young needs to grow up and learn."  What did Vince Young do that was so terrible?  Throw his uniform?  No one would have known if Fisher hadn't told us.

But Brad Childress made ONE COMMENT about how Brett Favre's interceptions cost his team--and they sure as hell did cost his team--and everyone's like "OMG!  A coach should NEVER throw his QB under the bus, that's SO UNPROFESSIONAL, Brett Favre is a LEGEND in this game."

Double standard?  I think so.  I think it has to do with the fact that Vince Young is black and Brett Favre is white.  I think it has to do with the fact that Tavaris Jackson is black too.  Yes, it also has to do with the fact that Brett Favre is a future Hall-of-Famer, but if Brett's going to Canton, it's for things he did IN THE PAST, not for anything he has achieved in 2010.  No one can seriously deny that Brett has killed his team this year and has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the entire league.  Brett is basically saying that he can't be held accountable, unlike any other player, because he's Brett Favre.

I always feel bad for Vince Young, he's an OK QB but he really needs to get his issues sorted out before he should play. Glad the Bengals are imploding so my Ravens have a better shot at the playoffs

Seymour got a 25K fine, no suspension, for the punch. Probably a fair punishment.

I read that James Harrison was calling for harsher punishment on Seymour than he got for his helmet to helmet. Ya know, we < pats > had Rodney Harrison and he was voted the dirtiest player in the NFL repeatedly, for years. James Harrison is a dirty player too. I give Rodney props for not whining about other dirty moves/players and taking his punishments like a man.
|James Harrison calling out some one else just seems a bit sophmoric. If Ben had spoken out I would have understood it, but Harrison just made an ass of himself, IMO.

I listened to  Coach Tomlin's comments on the Seymour hit and I have to wonder..... was he just being his usual classy self < no sarcasm > or......... is he looking forward to next year. I believe Seymour will become a FA and I think he would fit the Steeler's quite well, and he's still got alot in the tank. Soooooo I am wondering if Tomlin/Steeler's have thoughts on acquiring Seymour. Guess I will find out in the post season.

I thought even the fine on Seymour was excessive. Call him for unsportsmanlike and be done with it. Yeah, Rodney is all in favor of suspensions now that he's in a comfortable studio with Coach D. I think James Harrison is taking all of the helmet to helmet scrutiny too hard. I wish he would just say "fuck you" to Goodell and play his game. Let the league do what they have to to do.

Whoever said Fisher threw Vince under the bus must have seen different comments than I read and heard. The comments I saw were fairly benign and totally appropriate.

I don't see Vince Young playing for that team again. He might be the cancer that no team wants anything to do with.

LaM, I think its about time you sent a THANK YOU not to the Pittsburg Steelers for Santonio Holmes.

Whatever you do, don't abandon your lucky rabbit's foot, quarter, or superstitious routine now, it might cost the JETS the Super Bowl.

I was very disappointed to see Manning throw that late INT after such a stellar, 4th Qtr performance.

Vince Young has a history of issues and immaturity.  I think the Titans should've shipped him off, or never taken him to begin with.

Tomlin is careful with his verbage, guessing he does not want fined.  The officiating in that game was crazy.

Enjoyed the Pats and Colts always, not a big fan of Peyton, but he is great.

Jeff Fisher said he was "very disappointed" by Vince Young, that Young threw his uniform into the stands after being pulled, and that "we have some issues there."  If Childress threw Favre under the bus, then Fisher threw Young under the bus too.  Frankly, I think coaches are entitled to throw players under the bus.  (Players are certainly paid enough to be responsible for their performance in the postgame coverage.  If a QB throws a killer interception, are we really supposed to accept that his feelings are too fragile for the coach to be able to say, Yeah, that late interception really killed us?)  So I'm not exactly blaming Fisher.  I'm saying that the standards for Fisher vis-a-vis Young are different from the standards for Childress vis-a-vis Favre, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that Young is black and Favre is white.  If a black QB acted like the spoiled brat that Favre has taken to impersonating, we'd be howling him off the field.

As for the Jets...just lol.  They're not as good as I thought they'd be (especially on defense), but they're 8-2, and I stand by my Game 1 prediction: they'll be right there at the end.  Oh, and yes, Santonio Holmes was a pretty good pick-up.
