Yeah, Brees is on track to what, throw 72 TDs? He's a good one.

And Dallas.... Underachievers Inc strike again.

This thread is doing about as well as Katy's Steelers.

IND or NO will be harmed by laying down too much on their perfect records and clinched playoff positions.

It pains me to say it, but, I hope it's N.O.  Don't get me wrong, I like the saints, but, (and this is the part that hurts) I'm hoping for the Vikings.  Yes, I'm one of those evil Favre people.  But seriously, I think N.O. is going to take a loss in the next week or two and is going to just plummet from there and be out in the first round of the playoffs.

Indy...  they're Indy.  I'll be the first to admit that they have an awesome team, but, there's something odd looming for them I think.  They may just end up throwing a game just so that pressure isn't there.  I don't know.

Could this be another year where the Giants come out of nowhere at the end?  I hope not.  I like the Giants, and it would be kind of cool for them to pull it off like they did a couple years back, but I don't think they quite have it in them this time.  Then again, I don't think anyone thought they had it in them to beat the Cowboys in Dallas, Packers in Green Bay and Pats in the Superbowl.  I sure as hell didn't.

Then there's Green Bay.  How about that Rodgers kid anyway!? O.O  What the hell is up with him?  I feel kind of bad for him actually.  He's easily one of the best QBs in the game, but hardly anyone talks about him, opting for the big names of Brees, Manning(s), Favre and Brady. But holy cow!  Kid's on fire!

Talking of 'on fire', I think McNabb needs his ribs broken more often!  No, I don't hate the guy, I like McNabb, but I never really was able to figure out what all the hype was.  In years past, sure, he was good, but he was terribly overhyped.  This year though, after having his cage cracked and getting back, he's been awesome.  He FINALLY started showing that he really is as good as everyone has been yapping about for the last god knows how many years.  I say, in their first practice, they should just bust his ribs, and by the time the season rolls around, he'll be back out on the field and be unstoppable.

And the poor, lowly Bills.  Thanks T.O.  Gone and proven that no matter what team it is, you can make them suck.  Last year with the Cowboys while T.O. was there, it was the first time in like 800 years (okay, something like 30 actually) that they didn't make it to the playoffs.  While it brought a smile to my face, that was simply because I detest the Cowboys with an unnatural and biblical passion.  Then to the Bills.  No, not a great team, but, they were okay.  Now take an okay team and toss in someone like T.O. to ruin morale and team cohesion, and you have a pretty awful team.  I'm curious.  Can we put him on the Browns and see if they can get a (-)3-17 season?  Yes, I want to know if it's possible to lose all of the games in a season, AND have them take 3 more away just because of suckage.

And then there's the Vikes.  I have to question what's going on there sometimes.  They lost to Pittsburgh and Arizona.  But at the same time managed to beat Baltimore, San Fran (who is doing pretty decent this year, let's be honest), Cincinnati, and Green Bay (twice).  Okay, fine, I can see how the loss to AZ is possible, they're doing pretty well, for the Cardinals, and it helped that they had a couple more players on the field disguised as referees.  And no, I'm not going to bring the revenge thing into it with the Green Bay games, they just went out and whooped some butt.  No different than any of their other games this year really.  What happened in those games?  They weren't letting Favre play.  Yes, he was on the field, but, something was missing.  That smile.  He wasn't having a good time.  Regarde:  Favre is "playing", he's smiling, they whoop on their opponent.  Favre is frowning and being told what to do from the sidelines, they lose.  Just as it's been for what, 19 years now?  Let him go out there and be Brett Favre.  That's why you hired him to begin with.  Sick of the hype or not, no one can deny that he's playing better at 40 than 99.99999% of humanity could play (including other NFL 'stars') could play at 24.  Just let him play.  He's a big kid... or a cyborg... I'm not sure which yet.  Although I could swear I did hear "Favrebot 3000 reporting sir.  BEEP" before the game on Sunday.

Noting Cincinnati now.  9-4 and leading their division...  wait...  WHAT!?  The Cincinnati Bengals?  The ones from Ohio, right?  Orange and black team colours?  We ARE talking about the same team, right?  Can't be.   The same Bengals that are synonymous with "Suck!" since uh...  wow... I remember at one point when I was really really young (yes they had invented football then, smartasses) they were good, but, that's been a damned long time.  All I can say is, "Good on them!"  Could be a surprise in store in the post season.  No, seriously though, the Cincinnati Bengals?  Huh... Go figure.

As it stands now though, I'm figuring it'll be Indy v. Minnesota or New Orleans or mayyyybe Green Bay.  Either way, there's going to be some AWESOME games this post season.

The Bengals had a great season in 2005, won their division.went to the AFC playoffs, where the Steelers busted up Palmer's knee.  Plenty of teams have been worse for longer.

Okay seriously glad the Pats finally pulled it out of their ass on Sunday. Jesus Brady....the last two games had me screaming.

Well, a couple of things, I think. First, he's a second-year starter who looked solid last season, but didn't exactly set the world on fire. This season, Green Bay got off to such a sucky start, he could have been the second coming of Joe Montana and nobody would have noticed. Now the Pack's torn off 4 straight, but a lot of people already wrote 'em off and aren't even noticing them.

Second, the way Brees, Favre, and Manning are playing, there's not a lot of attention left over for a relative unknown. If there weren't so much stellar quarterback play this year, he'd probably get a lot more press, but he'll have to wait his turn. Still, though, if you watch a Packer game, you'll see that the announcers definitely know who he is and how good he is. They rave about him, comparing him to Montana, Steve Young, and Brady. It's just that on Monday mornings, it's the other guys who are getting the headlines.

And third, as good as his numbers have been, it's really only been the last month or so that he's taken his game to another level in terms of leadership and game management. He took a huge leap in the Dallas game, and is only now starting to look like a real field general. Throwing the ball away instead of taking sacks, reading defenses and exploiting them with audibles at the line, etc. All he needs now is a solid, or maybe even just respectable, performance in the playoffs, and he won't be under anyone's radar next year, no matter how well all those other guys are playing. He'll be in the same breath.

As a lifelong Packer fan who's seen almost every game Brett's ever played, I have to say the answer may be much less complicated than that. First of all, the two things that have made him such a success thus far in 2009 are not helping him as much as they were earlier in the year - the running game, and most importantly the defense. Favre only plays well when he doesn't feel pressured to win the game all by himself. He's usually very good only when he has the lead, and sometimes even then only if it's a comfortable lead. If he's behind, or even if he has the lead but feels the other team is closing the gap, that's when he's most likely to suck. He forces passes, makes stupid decisions, tries to throw for 3 touchdowns on every play. It's the Vikings defense that's elevated his play this year, and if they let up a bit and let teams back into the game once he's jumped out to a lead, he'll let it get into his head immediately. The last couple of games, it looks as though that might be what's happened.

Secondarily, to some degree, it may just be the fact that the calendar now says "December." 2 games is too small a sample size to be certain, but it may be nothing more than what we Packer fans have (over the years) come to call "the December Swoon." His game typically tails way off in December. He loses his focus, and drives coaches crazy. This is exactly why most Packer fans were more than ready to let him go a couple of years ago, and while it's too early to tell whether that's what's happening to him now in Minnesota, at this stage it doesn't look much different than what we cheeseheads have seen a million times before. Favre's annual late-season fade. The next couple of weeks should tell you a lot about what to expect from him in the postseason.

Nice to see other Packer fans here now I don't feel so alone out here in So-Cal being surround by all these AFC folks. LOL! But as I've always said, you can take the Packer Fan out of Packer land but we’ll always be Packer Fans forever so be warned we have divided and multiplied and we're everywhere!
I wish my cousin Ronnie would have lived long enough to see his beloved team back in the Superbowl it was a long stretch since he played in the first ones just maybe they could go again, well it could happen, or not. LOL! For #77 And yes Panda you are so right NOW let's hope history will repeat itself! GO PACKERS!!!!!

It's possible!  Then again, I have 2L of oj and vodka in me.  So I'll agree to about anything, and take 5 minutes to type this and not have any spelling mistakes (I hope).

Agreed.  I've loved the pack since I could open my eyes!  (you would love my new hat, a 3' long stocking cap a friend made for me for christmas, green and gold)  Which is why I HATE that Favre is playing for those damned vikings.  DAMNED VIKINGS!  (sorry, see the oj and vodka statement above)  I can't wait to see the last couple weeks and the playoffs.  Green Bay wildcard against Minnesota for a 3rd time this year.  Who to cheer for though!?  *cry*  Drama or not, I still love Brett.  But... he plays for the Vikings.  *more cry*

I am hoping that Chris Johnson can break Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record.

Next, I'd love to see CIN bounce IND out of the SB mix.

NO is my choice to win the Super Bowl.

I loved how Cedric Benson ran over the Bears.

I enjoy seeing Bill Belicheck suffer turbulence.

I'm wondering if Josh Freeman was the best QB drafted in 09.

I think the NFL rules have been skewed too far in favor of passing offenses.

All the best safeties in the league, Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed, and Bod Sanders have been plagued by injuries.

Carson Palmer will have to step it up in the playoffs.

Sandra Bullock wins an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the BLIND SIDE.

Ray Rice is closer to 5'5" than 5'7".

Was always amused this season by Jamarcus Russell's completion pct.

Troy Polamalu...  Proof that one person can completely make or break a team.  He needs to get that big ol', goofy, floppy mop head of his back out there on the field and save Ben and the rest of the steelers collective ass.  When he's in, they do awesome.  When he's out... well... yeah, their record speaks for itself.  Not big on the Steelers, but I do love to watch Polamalu play.

He's almost as entertaining to watch as Peyton Manning.  Watch Manning sometime, I mean really watch him.  Every time he comes up to the line it's like he's playing a really noisy game of chrades.

Scene from the defensive line:   What?  Okay.  Two words.  First word... Five letters?  Hand?  Arm?  Feel?  Touch?  TOUCH!  Cool!  Second word, four letters.  Pointing? Ground?  Floor?  Feet? Down?  DOWN!  TOUCHDO... aw... shit! >.<

Green Bay goes to Pittsburgh on Sunday. After a terrible 4 and 4 start and giving Tampa Bay their only win this year, the Pack has won 5 straight. They should be 10 and 4 Sunday night. Aaron Rodgers is on fire, and cry baby Brett has to play in the cold of Chicago.

Cutler and Favre, both playing outdoors in December. What's the over-under on the total number of interceptions?

I love that sentence, and the sentiment even more. Hey, coach - you wanted Randy Moss, you got Randy Moss. Be careful what you wish for.

LOL, cry baby...  cute...  I'd like to see anyone else start that many games in a row after the abuse he takes on the field.  And as far as cold...  He's played all but a year in Green Bay, New York and Minnesota.  Chicago is down right balmy compared to GB and MN.

Panda:  I'd say 2 for Favre, 4 for Cutler.  1 more fumble for MN and 2 for Chicago.  Bears are going to fall apart like a puzzle in a tornado.  No, I don't hate the Bears, they're okay, but they're just not looking good this year at all.

First, there is no way Bullock wins an Oscar they Disney-fied the shit out of that movie, also.

Dallas has no heart

If the Saints D plays reasonably well, I don't know if anyone can stop them. Nawlins will go ape shit if they win it all.

Yeah, I think Cutler's going to be much more generous this holiday weekend than Favre. The Vikings' defense is going to frustrate Cutler a hell of a lot more than Chicago's defense is going to frustrate Favre, and the last 3 or 4 weeks Cutler's looked like he's just phoning it in anyway. He's another Jeff George; all arm and no heart. Just doesn't have the internal circuitry to be a true NFL quarterback.
