Wow!!! I wanted to see either a PATRIOTS blowout or a GIANTS upset. My wish was granted. That catch on the almost-sacked-Eli Manning play was absolutely unbelievable.

Also, something I have not seen before: it struck me that Tom Brady was worried. His eyes betrayed concern instead of confidence.

The Giants FRONT SEVEN deserves most of the credit for this run to the SB IMO. Tonight they stuffed the run, hurried the passer, and contained the screen passes.

cb, I saw him look nervous a couple of times, too, speaking of Brady.

He was pretty dour in his brief interview too, never giving credit to the Giants, never giving out a good vibe to at least be a part of history.

He's not a sore loser. I hate the pats. But come on. He congratulated Giants head cash at the beginning, and as he's leaving hes expected to go back and humiliate himself again? It's an emotional thing, and it's tough I'm sure to lose the superbowl.

Tom Brady looked (in the post-game press conference) like he was channeling Peyton with that high forehead haircut.  Maybe Tom's always had a high forehead and I just never noticed before.  I was all "eek!"

WASHINGTON (AP) -- With the rising star from the Super Bowl out of the running, the Washington Redskins spent Thursday planning their next move.
Will their new coach be Jim Fassel? Ron Meeks? Steve Mariucci?

Or how about another mystery candidate? After all, owner Dan Snyder has kept the process well under wraps since Joe Gibbs resigned Jan. 8. At least two contenders, Fassel and Pete Carroll, weren't known to be on Snyder's list until more than a week after their initial interviews.

PHOENIX (AP) -- A would-be bar owner angry at being denied a liquor license threatened to shoot people at the Super Bowl and drove to within sight of the stadium with a rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition before changing his mind, federal authorities said.

Kurt William Havelock, who ultimately turned himself in, had vowed to "shed the blood of the innocent" in a manifesto mailed Sunday to media outlets, according to court documents. "No one destroys my dream," he wrote.

The documents say he was armed with an AR-15 assault-style rifle Sunday when he reached a parking lot near University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, where pre-game activities were happening.

HELP!!!  i am feeling this strange yearning!  (How long until August?)  How do you all deal with the off season?  (Dayum i wish my cable carried the NFL Station)!!!  i have today's bowl game to watch, but that's it! waaahhhhhhhh.  i like baseball, but only if the Mariners can pull a rabbit out of the hat (doubtful).  i am not into Nascar, it's too cold to go to hang out doors much.  What do you all do in the off season?

Jim Zorn has accepted the Redskins head coaching job.

The offseason usually turns into a discussion of the draft, trades, criminality.

I'm thankful for the post-season. I have tons of things to do, and I can't not watch football when it's on. Especially my Seahawks, and just about any playoff game!

For me its more a question of what things do I neglect during the season.

i am a newby footfall addict.  i do not understand the draft, which is why i was so disappointed that when the Pats were caught cheating at the beginning of the season, and they just got their hands slapped (or so i thought).  Heck by the time the season ended i was just trying to learn to spot a blitz! lol  However, you have given me something to do.  Off to learn more about this draft thing! Thank you.

I forgot to mention contract renewal/extensions, that's also another big story during the offseason.

I bitch and moan and kvetch about no football.

Like Katy said, there is usually some behind the scenes type stuff going on, which helps ease the pain.

Jim Zorn has accepted the Redskins head coaching job.

No matter how they spin it, Snyder "settled" for Zorn, because Spagnola turned them down.

Remember when Zorn played? I know Sanity does..... hell of a QB, running everywhere, and firing the ball to Steve Largent.

I can't think of Zorn without thinking of Largent.  They are conjoined, forever.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Heinz Field maintenance crew won't be throwing away those "Keep Off The Grass" signs after all.
The Pittsburgh Steelers gave into their players' wishes and will keep their grass field, though it may not necessarily be the field that is currently in place.

While the Heinz Field surface is regularly rated by NFL players as one of the league's worst, a large number of Steelers players lobbied the team to keep the grass because they are convinced it reduces injuries.

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Jim Zorn will make his Washington Redskins coaching debut in the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 3.
The Hall of Fame announced Sunday that the Redskins and Indianapolis Colts will meet in the annual exhibition in Canton, Ohio. It's played the day following the hall's induction ceremony.

The Redskins lobbied for the game after two of their former stars — Darrell Green and Art Monk — were voted into the Hall earlier this month. The rest of the Class of 2008 is comprised of Fred Dean, Emmitt Thomas, Andre Tippett and Gary Zimmerman.

The Colts last played in the Hall of Fame game in 1996. The Redskins, who hired Zorn on Saturday to replace Joe Gibbs, played in the 2004 game.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Amid fears the Buffalo Bills could relocate to Toronto, billionaire Tom Golisano has had numerous discussions about purchasing the franchise and keeping it in the community.
"I've talked to all kinds of people, and I'm not going to say anything beyond that," the Buffalo Sabres owner said Saturday in reiterating his interest in the Bills should the team be put up for sale.
