I used to take a good deal of pride in the quality of sports fans in New York. They’re knowledgeable, enthusiastic, dedicated and they have yet to celebrate a championship by trying to burn downtown.

But, as The New York Times reported on Tuesday, they’re only good as they have to be. Like hormone-hopped males everywhere, if you let them behave badly, they will.

And the people who run the state-owned Giants Stadium in the New Jersey Meadowlands, have allowed Jets fans to turn a portion of the building into a strip club.

I wonder if any of those fans will be blessing Gillette with their presence in Dec. when we play the Jets ? A much anticipated game by the entire fanbase of NE and I suspect the Pats themselves.

kittie:

I will not re visit the illegal videotaping scandel. I addressed it quite extensively in this very thread if you care to scroll back.

But I will say this: yup the fans are pretty PO'd.  Of course, we have despised him ever since he left. Not because he left, because of the things he did on the way out. And Pats/Jets has always been a huge rivalry. Basically we just really don't like each other. Long before Mangina.

This may surprise you, but I don't like blowouts. My fave game this season was the Colts. Had me on the edge of my seat. yelling and screaming.  I love a knock down drag out game. I am looking forward to the Steelers game. That one is usually a good fight. And hopefully the Giants will be too.

But I will say this.... I hope we knock the snot out of Mangina's Jets 102-3.

Go for it, Level ! [:D] I may even borrow my brother in law's Dallas sweatshirt for that game, cuz I will surely be the biggest Cowboys fan in the house that day.

TO and Randy Moss seem to be much calmer, and dare I say, team players this season?  Obviously they are very happy.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/20/2007 6:58:30 PM)

As far as Bronco love, I don't have a ton of it.  But I do like Jay Cutler and would really like to see him out perform both Leinart and Vince Young, in the future.  I think he can do it.

kittiekatt -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/20/2007 7:12:30 PM)

He already doesss out-perform them. For the most part anyway.

CollegeConundrum -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/20/2007 7:45:38 PM)

lol.

Jesus christ.  How does it feel to have your head up the Denver Broncos' ass?

AFC west, a powerhouse?

Cutler better than Young and Leinart?

I said used to be a powerhouse. Not this year.

How did Young do last night against Cutler. Last time I checked he lost.

Leinart isn't in either of their leagues. Young or Cutler.

Used to be.

So it's Young's fault the Tennessee D gave up those 4 TDs of 40+ yard?

Of the three, Leinart has the most pro potential but is injury prone.  Young is a terrible passer, and to show how little you know about your own team, Cutler will fail in any Shananan-run offense.  If he gets out of Denver, he'll have a shot.

When I returned home to Boston in September 1985, after 20 years of wandering in the sports desert, my Uncle Jason bestowed upon me a New England Patriots ticket that was once my father's. So over 23 seasons now I have attended almost 200 games in Foxboro in primo seats—there is a reward for holding tickets since the very first season back in 1960—and my wife has accompanied me to the stadium on exactly zero occasions.

In other words, she's not much of a fan. Still, that didn't stop me from trying to explain the venom being directed at the Patriots for running up the score in a succession of lopsided victories (Patriots 49, Dolphins 28; Patriots 52, Redskins 7; Patriots 56, Bills 10). My wife, who by osmosis knows far more about sports than she wants to, looked completely puzzled. I tried once again to explain the ethical issues, and, while her expression didn't change, she started shaking her head. Finally, she blurted out, "What is this, high school?"

Packers over the Lions, and........

Dallas crushes the Jets, 34-3

Big D and Green Bay are both 10-1, and meet Thursday in Texas Stadium.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/23/2007 9:17:43 AM)

That will be a great game.  I'm looking forward to watching it.  I never thought we'd see Favre have this sort of season in the twilight of his career.

It is a thing of beauty....As the Packers prepare to open a can of whoop-ass on the poor little cowboys this coming thursday....

After the Lions game as the victorious Brett Favre headed up the tunnel, he was asked by Pam Oliver what he thought of Romo...Brett was hesitant at first but then he gave this response...."The guy is a total cunt...He's gonna get bitch slapped on Thursday...It's amazing he can move around the pocket with a fourteen inch strap-on rammed up his ass.  He is the leader of a team full of pussies...They have no business being in this league."

It should be a great game.  God Bless Precious.......And Kevin Costner.

Katy, if anyone (even DG) had told me at the beginning of the season that Favre and Green Bay would have done this well, I'd have advised having them committed.

I get it -- the delusional Green Bay fans should have been comitted, but of course anyone suggesting that the Cowboys would be 10-1 now was actually a pessimist. [:D]
