DominaKittyK -> Since when.... (3/3/2013 11:16:35 AM)

Did it become acceptable to treat people like shit simply because you don't agree with them? I'm not talking about being abusive, I am talking about the elitist bullshit that is rife in the kink community. Since its very creation the internet has been a breeding ground for arguments and insults caused by difference of opinion but it seems particularly horrible in the kink community. You constantly get people thinking and claiming they know better than others without any decent basis for it.... I think the whole net (but particularly our community) could use a huge attitude adjustment....

MsLadySue -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 11:20:52 AM)

If you're finding that others are treating you poorly, perhaps, you being the common denominator, require the attitude adjustment.

erieangel -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 11:22:11 AM)

It's not just the kink community or the net...it's our society. I mean look at how people talk to and about one another on a daily basis. For the most part, we have become a very rude society. And it happens in all walks of life. We even have the Speaker of the House using what was once considered unacceptable language in televised speeches.

erieangel: it is good to see I am not the only one that is noticing the steady decline of manners in our society. 5 years ago you would walk into a shop, purchase something and the cashier would say "thank you have a nice day" whereas 90% of the time these days you are the one thanking the cashier! People used to learn from others differed opinions...

DominaKittyK -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 11:31:00 AM)

MsLadySue: I am talking about common courtesy and general manners, you have made it clear on all my threads that you lack both so I would not expect you to understand...

needlesandpins -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 11:32:43 AM)

actually i find most people to be ok. so if you are finding it to be everywhere you are i'd suggest looking at yourself. if it's really not you then stop feeling so sensitive on other people's behalf that actually may be enjoying what you are not. people have a voice to speak up for themselves. if people are being abusive towards you then consider whether you deserve it. if you don't think you do then complain to those that can so something about it. complaining about it here to a bunch of stranger that don't care isn't going to do you any good.

from your username i would also suggest you get a thicker skin very quickly. you're going to need it because it's not going to get any better.

your thoughts are quite esoteric and sparkly.

Needlesandpins: I could give a shit less what anyone thinks really. It was more a post to see if there are any others that have noticed the steady decline of manners in society.

English lessen number 1 (and normally i don't do this, but you happen to have used one of my pet hates) it is NOT 'i could give a shit less what anyone thinks really' it's ' i really could NOT give a shit what anyone else thinks' or 'i could NOT care less about what anyone else thinks'. ya see the way you've written it means that it really does get to you because you could care less about it. what you've written is different to what you mean.

also; there you are, miss high and mighty, talking about manners while insulting a member that has posted in the thread. yep, well done; a great show of manners.

Kitty, when you go looking for a fight, you shouldn't be surprised when you find one.

Yes, indeed. Go take a hop over to General BDSM and see how that behavior is modeled so effortlessly by the OP. [;)]

piccante -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 11:59:42 AM)

Can't say that I have, but then I truly feel that my experience of "society's" manners is positive because I help make it positive. I was brought up to say "please" and "thank you", open doors for people, help where I can and generally observe all those other social niceties which would fall under the category of "manners". And I tend to find that what I get back from people mirrors that which I give them. Sure, I do encounter the odd ass who, for whatever reason, doesn't appear to be aware of what the words "thank you" are for, but those people are very much in the minority for me.

By the same token, if I go out with my sulky face on and act like a complete arse, I can be damn sure that the number of people who treat me with courtesy will decline rather rapidly.

erieangel -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 12:00:21 PM)

I was simply responding to the OP. I will address your other comments in another thread to update my work issues.

Makes sense though, doesn't it!

Maybe she is with her 35 year old friend, who is visiting his 19 year old girlfriend?
Although in this profile, they do spell Australia correctly, so it's hard to tell for sure.

DominaKittyK -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 12:18:26 PM)

As i pointed out in the other thread, I am rude to those that are rude to me. I am polite to those who are polite to me. I just can't believe people... Here... Fetlife .... Everywhere.... I can be one of the worst for it at times. I am not perfect (I have terrible grammar for a start) but I do try... My main motivation for starting this post was the fact that I started a thread based on my opinion and people started (well JeffBC in particular) attacking ME... NOT what I had said ME.... Then I say something rude back after not 1 but 2more attacks on ME from JeffBC and then am informed he is apparently a long term and trusted member.... Since when did THAT become appropriate? Trashing a member, attacking them personally for their opinion? And if I am so rude for doing it why isn't JeffBC?

LadyPact -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 12:26:31 PM)

I saw the other threads. I wouldn't have used the terms abusive or treated like shit to describe the situation at all. I'd have to say that, in My assessment, you may be exaggerating, OP.

DominaKittyK -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 12:29:02 PM)

Poise: where did THAT even come from??! What are even talking about?

Level -> RE: Since when.... (3/3/2013 12:30:46 PM)

Jeff didn't attack you.
