I'll grant that most of the Yoga I've seen at salons and such amounts to little more than a healthful (cautions noted) form of physical culture. But that's attractive and well-suited to people who aren't seeking anything beyond a healthy practice that they can feel good about doing.

I grant you that. But then they shouldn't be calling it "yoga". They should call it something else - "Stretching classes", "Feel good classes", "Calisthenics", I don't care what they call it - but it is NOT yoga.

I'm tempted to start a Little League baseball league where all we do is teach the kids to run around the bases (no catching, throwing, hitting, or game play) and see how well that goes over with the label "baseball".

Things are what they are. One is either learning/practicing yoga, or one is not. Glorified exercise classes claiming to be "yoga" are a joke. We need to come up with a better name for these classes.
