I'm not a fan of paddles either. We have a little wooden paddle hairbrush that is used to great effect, and some kind of stiff leather thing which looks like a short tawse but acts like a paddle because it's so stiff. They both suck.

Then again, I'm not a masochist, and he IS a sadist, so they're supposed to be unpleasant.

I have some beautiful leather ones. Men seem to like wooden toys. I have some lovely ones that I keep as examples of wood, but really? Just use a 2x4, it has the same level of finesse.

I use a wooden paddle that a friend made especially for me. It makes a man's ass a very lovely shade of red. [:D]

Just had a wooden ping pong paddle used on me the other night. He sort of splintered it over my ass though. I am sure that is not going to bode well for me soon. [:-]

We have leather paddles but Master uses wooden ones most often as they are more versatile. there is a huge difference in the feel from different types of wood. Never had a 2x4 used on me but Master has a huge one like an oar. He also has one cut from the middle of a softball bat. Yum. Different types of wood have different feels. And he can get different results from the same paddle by the way He uses it. One of our favorites is an old Jokari table tennis paddle that He sanded and refinished so that it's as smooth as glass. Another long thin one from Cocobolo is great because it fits the sweet spot perfectly and can wear a condom.

His hand is perfect for morning I love you spankings. But I have a pretty tough ass that makes His hand sting. I'm the masochist in the family so He uses weapons for serious play.

Very interesting observation that men use wood more often. Could others confirm that for my curiosity? Thanks.

My first Master (15 years ago) used a spiked (small studded spikes) paddle on me that I really liked. My current Master wanted to get a crop to use on me so today I bought one for him as a gift. I can't wait to give it to him and I'm looking forward to him using it on me. :)

Personally, I have wood, metal, leather, and a ping pong paddle that we hot glued fur to one side, but left the other side the way it was. My other half made a couple of the wooden ones. Maybe that is the appeal of wood to some men? That they get to be creative in the woodworking department?

I absolutely love wooden paddles.... my fave is made of mahogany. I also have pine and oak....I bought my Sir one made of Padauk--beautiful African hardwood--absolutely the meanest paddle ever!

I used to have a dozen or so wooden paddles from a guy in Maine that did stuff from reclaimed wood. Most of them got donated to fundraisers.

I hate wood. I've broken every wood one I've ever owned. Give me those hard rubber ones any day. Those fuckers huuuuuuuuuurt and they leave the best marks-surface and deep tissue

Hey Kana
Some woods are harder than others....the African paddles are incredibly hard and very difficult to break. It also depends on the quality of the paddle. My Sir was using a really poorly made paddle (and yeah, I told him so...) and it broke. I bought him one made by a paddle maker named "Walt"---his paddles are almost unbreakable.

In fact, I wrote to Walt and his wife Linda--he guaranteed me that if the paddle he made me broke (under "normal" conditions) he'd replace it for me.'

Just google "Paddles by Walt" he makes the best paddles I've ever felt. The quality is top notch and he will adjust the thickness to your specs. A good thick paddle made of a quality hard wood will break the boy long before the paddle.
