One man's opinion....if he decides to run, get back to me, will ya'?

Sure, but this isn't Connecticut, and Lugar ain't no Lieberman. He lost by 21% points to a TEA PARTY endorsed candidate... What does that tell YOU?

Tells me that in the general election he'd whip Murdock's ass!....His cross over vote is without equal in the state.

I see you're as out of touch with Hoosiers as Lugar was two days ago.

Yes and I see reality has passed you a long time ago....out of touch with the lunatic tea party, and proud of it! Sorry pal, I am about as hardcore a Democrat as you may meet, and I always crossed over to vote Lugar....there are more of us than you are obviously aware of!....It won't matter unless he decides to run, but if he does, Murdoch goes down, who knows could even end up with a Democrat in the Senate. First since Birch Bayh, that would probably cause your head to explode!

At his age he might not do it, but then again, you tea party types may just have pissed him off enough, he could disrupt all your plans!

1) I'm not a member of the tea party
2) Lugar begged Dems to crossover and Independents to vote for him in the primary, we saw how well THAT worked
3) Reality is I live here and you don't, regardless of your party affiliation, or your past voting record

Yeah well Lugar hadda 20+ year run and how long was your boy's?  Oh yeah, right he aint even close to elected yet.  So what is 0 give or take a couple years, percentagewise to Lugar?

@subrob,
LOL....Nope, I no longer live in Indiana on a permanent basis, however I do own property there, and spend large amounts of my time there.

In Indiana you register based on your party, so therefore his plea was too late.

Let's see, born and raised in Indy, to prominent parents heavily involved in the Democratic Party, both still are, even in their advanced age.

If I wished to register as a resident, I could, I spend enough time there, I own property there, and I have business interests there.

Before you speak as to my knowledge perhaps knowing who I am and just how much time it is that I spend there would be beneficial.

I pay taxes in the state, and haveand probably for a bit longer time than you have. My residency in Georgia is my own choice, although I also spend a great deal of time in Florida, where I happen to be at present.

I would be a bit less judgmental of the knowledge others have, unless I knew them.

hot4bondage -> RE: Dick Luger Loses... (5/11/2012 6:27:12 AM)

The last Indiana Democrat to serve as US Senator was Evan Bayh, not Birch.

Indiana has a "sore loser" law preventing Dick Lugar from running as an independent for Senator this election.

In Indiana, crossover voting is technically illegal, but it is unenforceable unless you admit to it. Lugar was hoping to recreate the crossover voting that happened here in the 2008 primary, when many Republicans broke the law to vote for Hillary Clinton.

SilverMark -> RE: Dick Luger Loses... (5/11/2012 10:28:14 AM)

Thank you Hot, something I didn't know, a sore loser law...I am not so sure I have ever heard of such a thing.

Of course a little research and Voila'..... You can only run as an Independent in Conn. Iowa NY and Vermont after you have lost in a primary, but doesn't apply to Presidential candidates. The Two Party system protecting itself....imagine that! Something both parties can agree upon.

I did know that you have to declare your party affiliation.
