Enjoy your retirement Dickie Boyo...

Why you felt you the need to serve 42 years in the United States Senate, boggled me and evidently, so too the primary voters of Indiana who bounced your hubristic ass off the ballot by a 30 point margin!

I am not really one for term limits per se, but you should have been required to go at 30 or even at 24.

Clearly you are one of the PROBLEMS with Congress. Don't let the door hit you rear end.

So much for Obama's favorite Republican... Good job Hoosiers.

A 22 point margin, but still... wow.

Looks like the Tea Party will be pushing gridlock in the government again.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Dick Luger Loses... (5/9/2012 6:11:07 AM)

DS... not buying that one. He was in office for THIRTY-SIX YEARS!!!

I don't care what his party is he had to GO!

DarkSteven -> RE: Dick Luger Loses... (5/9/2012 6:30:10 AM)

@FDD - My 22 point comment was in response to your claim of a 30 point margin. While the margin was not 30 points, a 22 point margin is still a shocker.

hot4bondage -> RE: Dick Luger Loses... (5/9/2012 7:22:42 AM)

Elections could be considered a term limit. Too bad we become so attached to our incumbents. I'm looking forward to the debates. The Libertarian in this race, Andy Horning, did very well in the last gubernatorial debates. Indiana voters, please check him out before you make your decision.

At least with gridlock we'll do nothing which in and of itself could be better than doing something.

As much as I like libertarians, he could have the effect of putting the democrat in office.

Not here, Mourdock is golden right now, and smart enough not to make any Biden boneheaded statements. Horning has as much chance of beating Mourdock as that Survivor guy does at beating Pence for Governor.

They've effectively killed another guy who could make deals and promote compromise. that's for sure.
They still have to win the seat, which is now a considerably different race. Oh well it's the business of people of Indiana. I wish em luck deciding their own political fate.

And the political fate of the nation.

Their pushing it in Wisconsin too. Walker running in an unopposed primary gets more votes than the 2 democrats combined in their primary.

I heard the Tea Party was dead.

servantforuse -> RE: Dick Luger Loses... (5/9/2012 9:43:00 AM)

Tea party dead ? Not quite. Unions spent 4 million trying to get their candidate on the ballott to oppose Walker in the recall election. She got 18 % of the democratic primary vote.

Maybe I'm missing something. What does the tea party have to do with who wins the Democratic primary? Did they show support for either candidate?

If you say so...
It's not my state, I wish no influence, because that's a turd's errand. It should be up to the people of Indiana. Commenting on the mid term behavior of an ELECTED guy is appropriate. As are the opinions expressed about Luger.
I personally think the guy was pretty even keeled. I didn't agree with him on abortion and a few other points. But there were also things he supported that I did.

You should find a better news source... Though I will agree that what they broadcast as a platform was DOA the second they stepped on the Koch Bros' Buses.

The Late Great Bill Janek would refer his reasoning as "talkin chickens and spaghetti".

I don't care if a Chinese Marxist wins the seat. Lugar's loss is addition by subtraction.

DK... my reply was to your Tea Party Quote.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Dick Luger Loses... (5/9/2012 10:00:00 AM)

I don't believe the length of time someone is in office is a determinant of whether or not they should "GO".  Mike Mansfield was in congress for 34 years, and Montana and the US were the better for it.

Having said that, I am not sorry to see Luger go.
