ORIGINAL: MasterDoc1 That would be the assumption perhaps but believe it or not the most recent poll that looked at it showed Paul leading Obama among independents. I think Paul would carry 95% of the usual republican vote (some of them only after gagging rather than Obama) and (unlike any other republican) a large number of left-wing antiwar people who want to crush the military-industrial complex (we spend almost as much on military as every other country in the world COMBINED!), a lot of people who viewed Obama as an agent of change and now feel ripped off, a lot of liberals who think our primary problem is corporate welfare, all the gays who lean right but couldn't swallow the anti-gay policies of prior republican candidates and a HUGE percentage of marijuana smokers (if they remember to go to the polls), essentially all of whom went for Obama last time. The hard part for Paul has always been winning the Republican nomination; the general election vs Obama is MUCH more winnable. Paul said he wouldn`t have gone after bin-laden..... Fail. And we`re quite happy with the "change" President Obama has brought to the White House. Just showing up and doing his job has been a wonderful "change".......... from the bush.
