Michele Bachmann's Iowa Chairman Kent Sorenson Abandons Her For Ron Paul
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) accused her former Iowa campaign chairman of accepting money to jump ship to support Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) on Wednesday, issuing a terse statement within two hours of his announcement.

Kent Sorenson, the Iowa state senator who served in the Bachmann campaign, denied the allegations and said he accepted no money for his endorsement. Sorenson is "leaving his post as Iowa chairman for U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign here," according to a statement from the Paul campaign. "The resignation and endorsement take effect immediately."

Was he pushed or did he jump?
Did filthy lucre buy his change of mind?
Is it a rat deserting a sinking ship?
Are the wheels falling off Bachmann's campaign?
Is this God's plan or Lucifer's devious plotting?
Did Satan get to Sorenson?
Will Bachmann's campaign still be running when I run out of clichés?

With bated breathe and lowered expectations, decent God-fearing righteous people everywhere await the answers to these and other vital questions.

Fortunately I'm an indecent type of girl and couldn't care less .... except for the never ending comedy value! [:D]

Lucylastic -> RE: Michele Bachmans man jumps ship to Paul!!! (12/29/2011 12:57:35 PM)

well thats what gets me too Tweak:)
the comedy factor is "EVERYTHING"

Moonhead -> RE: Michele Bachmans man jumps ship to Paul!!! (12/29/2011 12:59:53 PM)

If it wasn't for the comedy value, Bachmann would have no values at all...

Lately I've been wondering: They can't possibly be this stupid - are they doing it to inflate the value of the movie rights? [:D]

I think it must be something in the water

One positive thing about Michelle is she has bitch slapped Newt a few times during the debates. And he's added to his
loathsomeness by playing the he man
woman haters club card on her.
But jumping from Bachman to Paul seems
quite a leap. Usually when the rats jump
from the sinking ship they're trying to
scramble on a sturdier vessel which in
this case would presumably be Romney
since he's the party's guy and has deep
pockets.
A desertion for Paul makes one think the
anti Romney brigade is deeply entrenched
and that there are stirrings for Paul to
make a third party run.

Oh yes they can.

Michele Bachmann's Holy WarThe Tea Party contender may seem like a goofball, but be warned: Her presidential campaign is no laughing matter

Michele Bachmann has found the flaw in the American Death Star. She is a television camera's dream, a threat to do or say something insane at any time, the ultimate reality-show protagonist. She has brilliantly piloted a media system that is incapable of averting its eyes from a story, riding that attention to an easy conquest of an overeducated cultural elite from both parties that is far too full of itself to understand the price of its contemptuous laughter. All of those people out there aren't voting for Michele Bachmann. They're voting against us. And to them, it turns out, we suck enough to make anyone a contender.

Great article thanks kalishama!

Bachmann sure is 'one batshit crazy mama'! My observation is that people like that invariably implode after a while. And the premise of the article requires us to believe that the American people have forgotten all about the disasters of the Bush the Dumber era in 4 short years. I'm not too convinced of that either.

However, no one ever got to live longer by ignoring dangers as palpable as that of Bachmann's to US democracy. I wish you all the best - who knows what such a looney would do to the rest of the world given the chance?

DarkSteven -> RE: Michele Bachmans man jumps ship to Paul!!! (12/29/2011 7:26:49 PM)

Her accusations make her look nuts.

Note what Sorenson said.  He stated that Paul was a credible conservative alternative to Romney and Gingrich.  I had predicted a three way race between Romney, Paul, and a conservative.  Should Paul be able to get the conservative GOP vote, he'd be hard to stop.

Of course, Ron Paul vs Obama would be a blowout.

DarkSteven: Ron paul vs Obama would be a blowout? For whom?

DarkSteven -> RE: Michele Bachmans man jumps ship to Paul!!! (12/29/2011 7:46:12 PM)

Obama'd win easily.

Obama should get all the Dem votes and the GOP challenger all the GOP votes in essence.  The question is, who will appeal to the moderates and independents better?

MasterDoc1 -> RE: Michele Bachmans man jumps ship to Paul!!! (12/29/2011 8:03:46 PM)

That would be the assumption perhaps but believe it or not the most recent poll that looked at it showed Paul leading Obama among independents.
I think Paul would carry 95% of the usual republican vote (some of them only after gagging rather than Obama) and (unlike any other republican) a large number of left-wing antiwar people who want to crush the military-industrial complex (we spend almost as much on military as every other country in the world COMBINED!), a lot of people who viewed Obama as an agent of change and now feel ripped off, a lot of liberals who think our primary problem is corporate welfare, all the gays who lean right but couldn't swallow the anti-gay policies of prior republican candidates and a HUGE percentage of marijuana smokers (if they remember to go to the polls), essentially all of whom went for Obama last time.
The hard part for Paul has always been winning the Republican nomination; the general election vs Obama is MUCH more winnable.

Good luck with that.

The hard part for Paul is that he mixes a few good ideas in with a lot of fantasy.

Hmmm.  I believe the part about any GOP nominee carrying 95% of the GOP voters.  The bit about Paul eating Obama among independents sounds fishy.  The rest sounds rather unlikely to me.  Especially the bit about liberals who feel the Dems are the party of corporate welfare.

Paul said he wouldn`t have gone after bin-laden.....

Fail.

And we`re quite happy with the "change" President Obama has brought to the White House.

Just showing up and doing his job has been a wonderful "change".......... from the bush.

jillian4you4fun -> RE: Michele Bachmans man jumps ship to Paul!!! (12/30/2011 4:58:29 AM)

You call that change? obama has done everything bush would have wanted and more.

imperatrixx -> RE: Michele Bachmans man jumps ship to Paul!!! (12/30/2011 7:25:42 PM)

I'm a liberal and I'd probably vote for Paul over Obama.
