poise -> Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 7:12:59 AM)

After witnessing the brunt of a few hurricanes myself, I am saying a
prayer for those in the path of Hurricane Irene. Please stay safe!

*echoes the lovely Poise*

Please do pray. I am pretty worried about my parents who are refusing to evacuate after a mandatory evcauation was given. So yes please stay safe and make preparations now.

Nothing like shoving your door open after a major one (Andrew) and looking around wondering if you somehow got nuked.

Be safe folks and if you get the order, get the fuck OUT.

As somebody who is in an area that will be affected- thanks! My nieghborhood hasn't been given the orders to head for the hills, and hopefully it stays that way!

Ja, and extra for all you girls, I would hate to lose one pair of lips in this coming disaster.

I don't think hurricanes have much respect for prayers, please do something practical instead

I fully agree.  Stay safe.

If you're in the path, let us know that you're ok when it's over.

Amygdalin -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 12:59:57 PM)

Yeah, I am in the path. We haven't been given any evacuation notice, but Ocean City has, and I am only an hour from there. I am staying tuned.

Good luck and best wishes to everyone.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 1:12:59 PM)

Shorey and I are down here at the shore. I spent the morning getting everything that could move into the shed. We're going in about an hour to get the boat out of the water and trailered. Then we're gonna hunker down and try to stick it out. Unless it gets really bad.
Wish us luck.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 1:15:36 PM)

Aileen. By the time it gets bad it will be to late to move. The very last thing you want to do is get stuck on the road in a car when it hits. If you think you MIGHT want to evacuate, get the boat secured and bail out.

Ive been there, done that and I lost all My T shirts when the roof blew off.

PeonForHer -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 1:15:42 PM)

I think it's entirely unfair of God to punish Americans in this way for butchering the English language.

Seriously, take care, you folks.

DesFIP -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 2:28:15 PM)

We got hit with a massive thunderstorm last night, woke up to find the driveway impassible. The Man's desperately trying to patch it up in time for Sunday's second whammy. I figure we'll fix up here first and then rent a truck, fill it with plywood and drive down to Long Island to start the repairs on the beach house. I'm hoping we don't lose too much of the main house, just the cabana and the pool.

Plywood is already a rare commodity on Long Island so I'll have to bring it down with me. According to the pictures I saw earlier, projected landfall on NY is right over the beach house.

NuevaVida -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 2:48:32 PM)

Wishing everyone well, and agree that if it's suggested or ordered you evacuate, get the heck out.

That is why I am going to sit on the roof with my gun. If that hurricane takes one step toward my house, I'm going to blow it away.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 2:58:14 PM)

Please take care of your animals too, and make sure they are as safe as possible.

Amen to that!

hardcybermaster -> RE: Please stay safe! (8/26/2011 3:02:46 PM)

remember if it breaks a window that's a home invasion and it's your right to shoot that hurricane.
seriously though, get the fuck out of it's way people
