Thanks poise. I would definitely try to be. I think I made Irene mad after I insulted her though. I woke up early this morning to steady, ferocious winds. Much worse than last night. Blowing tree limbs all over the place. Blew a couple boats and a trailer over. She obviously doesn't respect my authoritah.

In all seriousness though, looks like the storm has killed 11 people so far, including a 15 year old girl and an 11 year old boy. A woman was killed about 45 minutes away from where I am. A tree fell on her house and collapsed the chimney.

So everyone check in when you get a chance. Let us know you're okay. Thoughts and prayers.

New Hampshire. Lots of bangs and sirens going on. A little break in the action at the moment. I lost a tree in my yard.

....just waiting for it to be over. I wonder how I will occupy my time?

Wow there's a fairly thick branch on the tree outside my window that just isn't there any more! Odd because the wind isn't all THAT bad although some of the gusts are fairly impressive.

Some of my friends out in Manhattan are holed up in their apartment with candles, food, wine and old movies. So far so good. Hope everyone on here is warm and safe and dry.

We weathered the storm just fine. Never lost power. Didn't get flooded.
In fact, I slept like a baby all night.
Had a hot cup of coffee in the morning then went out for breakfast at the diner.
The evening is gorgeous and we are relaxing. It was very anticlimactic.

Aileen you stone cold stunnah ;-) Same here...lots of noise last night for a bit but never even lost power and this morning is gorgeous! Friggin news....
