So the Dems don't have any dirty laundry!

Why is it whenever somebody points out the hypocrisy of the right, their minions respond with that same state. Each. And. Every. Time.

Because if you do, they have a built in excuse - "See, it's okay since everybody is doing it."

Surprised about what? That some asshole isn't paying child support? It happens all the time. It's just a shame that they don't lock more of the deadbeats up. Or maybe you think I am surprised that this is being turned into another right bashing thread and no I am not surprised about that either. Some of the more rabid bigots on this board don't know how to do anything else.

Same reason that everytime someone says something bad about the left people start crying "well the repubs did it first"

It's not just "some asshole" as you so colourfully put it. It's US House of Representatives member Joe Walsh. One of your country's elected leaders. A man elected to promote family values and fiscal responsibility. A man who regularly lectures the rest of you on how to do it too:

I won’t place one more dollar of debt upon the backs of my kids and grandkids unless we structurally reform the way this town spends money!” Rep. J Walsh

It seems like he isn't going to place a dollar of any sort towards his children's future. If you think it's fine for politicians to live according to the principle: Do what I say don't do what I do' that's up to you.

Most people find hypocrisy is hard to stomach at the best of times. This particular person's behaviour and actions tell us that he puts his personal interest ahead of everything else, even that of his children. Right wingers like to call it 'enlightened self interest'. The only quibble is whether the 'enlightened' bit amounts to anything more than window dressing to seduce the credulous demographic.

If you think such hypocrites offer a way out of the financial mire your country finds itself in, (due in large part to warmongering by Walsh's fellow right wingers) then you need to prepare yourself for the worst.

If a person cannot be trusted to take care of his children, it has to be sheer insanity to put him or his kind in charge of a nation.

Yes he is just some asshole and if he isn't paying support he is some asshole who should be locked up. I really don't care about the rest of it.

Unfortunately, a lot of congress should be locked up for various reasons.

Call me wierd, boi, but I have this idea that those who want to lead should be held to a bit of a higher standard.

That's why I was one of those who said Weiner should resign.

I am sure you are right, but right now we are talking about one asshole...errr....man here.

Call me wierd, boi, but I have this idea that those who want to lead should be held to a bit of a higher standard.
And if they don't by breaking the law, then they should get locked up.

That's why I was one of those who said Weiner should resign.
Yea, he was another fine example of asshattery.

I'll only disagree with you one one fine point there, boi. Anyone who would refuse to support their child(ren) is NOT a man.

When leftists say we need to hold politicians to a higher standard, odds are good that they dont mean their own politicians

Poll a thousand leftists and see how many of them are willing to admit that "Monicagate" actually stemmed from a sexual harassment lawsuit against Bill Clinton, and the fact that he was convicted of perjuring himself during he proceedings

And that there were other allegations of rape against him

All of which the vast majority on the left continue to sweep under the rug to this day

Good thing I was also calling for a Democrat to resign or I could be mistaken for a leftist.

Oh, you didnt read that? Poor ignorant boy.

mnottertail -> RE: Tea Party deficit hawk won't pay his child support (8/1/2011 11:04:29 AM)

sweep under the rug, is that sort of like arms for hostages, unprovoked invasions, bankrupting the country, nixon criminality, or any thing else.

yeah, this is the first I heard clinton got a blowjob, they must have done a hell of a job.

Well let's see what Monica has to say:

Lewinsky Tells Her Story - The Canadian Encyclopedia

In the interview and in Monica's Story, the tell-all book by British biographer Andrew Morton, Lewinsky finally stepped out on her own - free for the first time to shape her story without most of the strictures imposed by a legal investigation. After being subjected to so much political spin, she was able to do her own spinning, portraying herself as a free-spirited but well-meaning young woman who found herself both in love with the President of the United States and being used by his enemies as a "pawn" against him. She made a point of apologizing to Hillary Clinton and daughter Chelsea "for what they've been through." And in a culture where fame and infamy often seem indistinguishable, she was able to use her metaphorical 15 minutes to start generating some serious money - at least $7.5 million from her book advance, magazine deals and interview fees in Europe.

There were few revelations - not surprising for a relationship already exhaustively documented by squads of investigators. Lewinsky, still only 25, did reveal more about her taste for older men. She told Morton that in 1996, while she was involved with Clinton, she had an affair with a co-worker at the Pentagon, a man she identified only as "Thomas." Morton, best known as the conduit for the late Diana, Princess of Wales's account of her failed marriage to Prince Charles in his best-seller Diana: Her True Story, writes that Lewinsky became pregnant and had an abortion. That upset her so much that she sought therapy, and came to understand that she took up with married men because she lacked self-respect. "What I've come to see is that that happened because I didn't have enough feelings of self-worth," she told Walters. "So that I didn't feel that I was worthy of being No. 1 to a man."

Not at all sanity. We just think differently.

You apparently think it is OK to be a deadbeat dad as long as you have an (R) after your name and have very low expectations for our leaders. If they have an (R) after their name, they can do whatever lowlife highjinks they want.

I, on the other hand, don't think it is acceptable no matter that.

I said the guy isn't fit for office because he is a deadbeat dad.

You immediately launched your 'those leftists attack'. I could only assume you were defending said deadbeat dad.

I don't give a shit what party someone belongs to. If they're a deadbeat dad or sending undies pics to women on their phones or sucking cock in airport restrooms they are NOT fit to be leaders.

You only seem to think the ones with a (D) after their name should be removed. Your defense of this deadbeat dad led Me to believe you approved of him else why would you defend him?
