I'll tell you a little story about Alesi. I grew up in a summer resort town the next county south of his district. Canandaigua Lake is a glacier carved, long narrow lake, one of the Finger Lakes, and lined with cottages, most of which have morphed into year round homes. Senetor Alesi purchased a home on Whiskey Point from one of the descendants of the original settlers, on a dead end, seasonal stretch of road. The lake banks are steep and rocky, the road narrow, most homes are across the road from the water as there just isn't room to build on the water. Whiskey Point however is a prime large level flat lot and Alesi immediately made plans to MOVE THE ROAD behind his house so he wouldn't be bothered by traffic as he sat on his front porch and viewed the lake. He was quite put off by the ensuing shitstorm, and was quoted something along the lines that because of his awesome responsibilities, he deserved to have the road moved so he could fully relax, as no one understands the stress his position puts on him. I believe that the fact that there are other millionaires on that road who would have been inconvienenced is the only thing that kept it from happening. The arrogance of these politicians never ceases to amaze me.
