It has had breaches before, not newsworthy, except for the part about the one day rest advantage and moving the game to another location for Monday.  The big excitement will be the outdoor game in Chicago this afternoon.  Backward punts in heavy winds!

I saw this and have to say this is just to strange happening, the MN Giants game that was scheduled for 1:00 today was postponed until 8 tomorrow because the giants couldn't fly into MN cause of the snow, and then the stadium inflatable roof collapses.  Thank goodness, it happened when it did.  Could you imagine if it happened during the game?  But all in all, is something trying to say don't play this game lol.

My God.  The dome couldn't handle 17 inches of snow in MINNESOTA?  Three breaches in the past? And it's inflatable?  What kind of idiot decided that it should keep on being used instead of rebuilt correctly, especially with three indications this could happen?

I just hope nobody was inside when it failed.  This is unforgiveably bad engineering.

They had specifically made decisions to keep the public safe yesterday before it collapsed. They were aware of the possibility and tok steps.

This is true.  The game was rescheduled before the collapse.  The NFL is way too protective of its brand to risk thousands of death/injury.

It must match the bridge that collapsed.

From what i understand the game was postponed mainly it seems because the giants couldn't get there, they were stuck in Kansas City.  While the weather being unstable was a consideration, its kinda hard to play a football game when one team can't get into the city.

PAHunkboy, i don't get your comparison, that bridge collapse is nothing to make light of.

I'm surprised you're not spouting some wingnut theory about how Favre sabotaged the roof so his streak would not be jeopardized.

That's really uncalled for.

Well they know it snows there.  Why build shoddy infrastructure?

Why?

That thought did occur to me. Briefly.

How can you peruse the internet for headlines to post here and be clueless regarding Brett Favre?  I'm not buying it.

Is it even possible to read a story about the metrodome that does not mention Favre?

My daughter talked to a horse trainer friend in MN over facebook. Their house and barn are standing up fine but they needed a snowplow to rescue a horse in a paddock. It was unable to move, being trapped by snowdrifts six feet high. However they think they got to it in time, and it should recover safely inside the barn with a warm mash.
