ORIGINAL: DarkSteven My God. The dome couldn't handle 17 inches of snow in MINNESOTA? Three breaches in the past? And it's inflatable? What kind of idiot decided that it should keep on being used instead of rebuilt correctly, especially with three indications this could happen? I just hope nobody was inside when it failed. This is unforgiveably bad engineering. I'm not so sure, Steve. Have you watched the video? As quickly as they are saying they'll have it repaired, I suspect it was designed to fail in just such a fashion when the snow weight became too great. It may have been a spectacular failure to watch, but it doesn't seem to be a catastrophic one. Saying it was 17 inches of snow really doesn't tell us anything. 17 inches of a nice powdery, dry snow, and 17 inches of a thick, wet snow are two completely different situations. Meanwhile, LA is forecast to get into the 80's tomorrow. :)
