pogo4pres -> Keith Olbermann suspended.... (11/5/2010 12:18:50 PM)

For what it is worth, it is being reported the Keith Olbermann has been suspended for giving political contributions to candidates without permission from parent company NBC.  Now in the hopes of this being the only post on this utterly stupid topic I ask you please answer the following YES or NO questions, and if the answer is NO to any one of them feel free to refrain from responding.

1) Does this affect me personally in any way?

2) Will this change the economy?

3) Will this stop the utterly stupid occupation of Iraq?

4) Will this stop the war in Afghanistan?

5) Will this stop any of the "shadow wars" we have going in Pakistan, Yemen, or Somalia?

6) Will this suddenly enlighten the populace in any way?

7) Is this any different than an entire "news" network donating a million dollars to a shadow GOP organization?

Thank you all for reading, as I said if the answer to any one of those questions is no then a response is really not necessary.  If this thread lives beyond one page then I will have failed to make the idiocy of this known.

Journalistically,

Keith Olberman is a hypocrite. While critisizing Fox for donating to the GOP, he is doing the exact same thing.

willbeurdaddy -> RE: Keith Olbermann suspended.... (11/5/2010 1:02:04 PM)

Couldnt happen to a more despicable POS.

1) Does this affect me personally in any way? Yes, the air I breathe will be less polluted by the venom that he befouls it with daily.
7) Is this any different than an entire "news" network donating a million dollars to a shadow GOP organization? Vastly different, and even different from a billionaire spending hundreds of millions of dollars promoting liberal websites who's contributors wouldnt give a shit about the difference between the truth and a lie if they were being waterboarded.

Only 8 are crushed, Colbert and Stewart are happy.

KenDckey -> RE: Keith Olbermann suspended.... (11/5/2010 1:26:55 PM)

I don't listen to him nor do I follow his politics.   Not sure I even ever heard of him before.   Shows how much faith I have in the media   lol

But, what I do hate is that any corporation would fire someone for making a political contribution.   I can see doing it IF they were running for office, because it might be construed support whether or not it was every time he was on the air - I have seen this before and it was a mess.  But to me, whoever gives to whom ever's campaign is exercising their 1st amendment rights.   I hope he sues the crap out of them.

MY FUCKING TOPIC, MY FUCKING RULES.

The proposition was IF YOU ANSWER NO TO ANY OF THOSE 7 QUESTIONS DON"T BOTHER REPLYING.
FIVE PEOPLE SO FAR HAVE MANAGED TO EITHER BE READING COMPREHENSION CHALLENGED, OR OUTRIGHT DISINGENUOUS ASS-WIPES.

The others are in response to the reading challenged or each other,  which is a different matter. BUT I ASK AGAIN IF YOU ANSWER NO TO ANY OF THOSE SEVEN QUESTIONS, please try to refrain from responding.

P.S.  Edited to add the reading challenged are up to 6 now while I was writing this.

You're misreading the first amendment.  The first amendment means the GOVERNMENT can't censor free speech.  It doesn't mean that free speech is consequence-free, however.  People like Sarah Palin don't seem to understand:  private corporations have every right to fire you for what you say.  The first amendment just means the government can't stop you from saying it in the first place, or bar you from office for saying it.
