pahunkboy -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 12:28:12 PM)

I am the last.  There is no offspring.  When I die- it will be weeks before they find me.

My junk if I am lucky will cover the burial- or cremation.

I own 2 plots- it really is all I can do to keep my current bills paid.  Keeping the lights on- the water on- and so forth.

Death will be good- as the tension of life will be over.

Each year- the world is less the place I want to live in.  I am a total disconnect from the new generations.

I cant keep up with teck- trends- gadgets and fads.  It is harder and harder to even do simpy things- everything is a plan with a sales pitch.
Today I got my hair cut- it was stupid to tell them over again- no I do not want the $8 shampoo- I do not want a wash- I do not want a blow dry.  I do not want gel- mouse- goop-= or spray.  Just a simply flat top haircut.
anything you do - is becoming a major production.
I am too out of it- to navigate all the "gotchas".

So-  death- when it comes- will- have some good points.

Mine is already set up...... and as long as I don't go over 275 lbs...... I am paid for too..:)

I can see the sign now..

You gotta be under THIS^---------^ weight to ride free.
Jefff'll be on the roof rack.

[:D]

I just had this very disturbing mental image of an anteater's head mounted on the wall. [:@]OUT OUT damn thought!

Jeffff -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 12:31:33 PM)

It actually cost more to cremate you if you are over 275.

And who doesn't like a little cremate in their coffee?

pahunkboy -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 12:37:24 PM)

Speaking of coffee- I was at the surplus store- they had chocolate silk coffee for $2.49 a can.  Yay!!

housesub4you -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 12:48:15 PM)

ahhh coffee older than the person drinking it, I am surprised, as much as you hate the GOV you buy their coffee, no mind control there

All I can say is take care of your wishes NOW, cause when you are dead it is to late.  Want to be thrown out with the trash, no problem, burned to a crisp, can do, just take care of it first cause it's not about You when you die, it's the people left who have to make all the choices for you.   Because the last place for a grieving person to be is in some office the day after you die making all  these choices.  Pre plan that way you know and are in control  And think how easy it is to take care of now

Actually on a legal standing.  Even if you voice your concerns now to those you think matter and who will fulfill them.  They don't have to and might not when the time comes.
You've got to put it in writing, that is the only way your wishes cannot be changed.

pahunkboy -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 12:57:59 PM)

I also bought un-fluoridated water when I was out.

housesub4you -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 1:05:41 PM)

Yes, I meant pre planning with everything in writing
'
except of course for PHB where the government has plans for his soul which cannot be discussed without beer

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 1:40:20 PM)

I will likely be donating my body to science, the only arrangements to be made, would be getting on board with an organization, having paper work on file, and then when the final day comes, the hospital will call the organization and the org will come pick up my body.

So have you made your arrangements?  I'm not looking for any business, just curious about people here if they have thought about it

juliaoceania -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 1:48:07 PM)

Actually, if you are broke the state pays for cremation, just in case you didn't know...

Your family does not have not have to pay for jackshit... they won't pay for a funeral, they will not pay for a coffin, but the state will pay for cremation if no one else survives you to pay for it...

So, even under my plan, I die without a penny to my name, my son still does not have to pay for it... But I doubt highly I would not leave enough to send me off on my dirt nap

itsmeinLV -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 1:50:47 PM)

In my family, it's bad omen (for lack of better word) to pre-plan things like that.  Even though we know everything in life is inevitable, and it is practical to pre-plan, but we feel that it invites death when it isn't our time yet.  [&:]

pahunkboy -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 1:51:50 PM)

And one guy on this thread does not want me to have a cup of coffee.

consider the list of choices.

housesub4you -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 2:21:02 PM)

well to a point that is true, yes the state will pay, but the family has no say in when or where the deceased is laid, also there is no assurance that the family can be laid to rest next o the deceased.

Now you may think fine, but what many do not understand is that in public gardens, NO one can pick a place so even if you want to be buried next to you kin, there is nothing you can do, except pay to have them removed and reburied where you desire.

So PRE Plan  hell if you need help write me and I will offer what I can, but when it is at need it is to late

There is nothing in this for me, unless of all the cemeteries in the world you pick ,the one I work at to be buried in.  And what are those chances

pahunkboy -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 2:27:39 PM)

isnt every death untimely?

it is sorta like a good day to have a car accident.

In California I know this to be the case just a couple of years ago.  (not sure if it has changed to cremation)  Anyway, the state would pick up the tab.  They would bury you in a plywood coffin in a place they call paupers grave.  Four to 5 high.  No markings and when the boxes collapse which in time they do.  If anyone did inquire as to where you were buried they would have record but if the boxes collapsed.  There isn't much of a chance of finding you.
Definitely the family will not be laid to rest next to anyone they know or would ever want to know.  After all though it is still a body you have left and you might not care.

Savage, you are such an exhibitionist and so animated. I bet you get up and dance naked when the med students gather around your corpse!

You know what?  I think you just made my "plans" for me!  Sounds like an AWESOME idea!  But I'll probably be late getting there.  Bet me!

But, I TOTALLY forgot about Body Worlds

pahunkboy -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 2:36:35 PM)

I wonder what outfit goes best?

I want to dress to kill.

Chrisincuffs -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 3:07:37 PM)

The only plan I've made is for one of my friends to go through my shit and dispose of all my toys and BDSM shit that my mother would have a coronary if she found.

Cremation is equally odious and seems like a waste of energy.  At least in the ocean I can provide food for predators and bottom feeders.  Getting someone to do that for me is another story.

It is a waste of energy. I looked into being more natural about my remains and I found out there are strict laws which prevent it.

My Dad wanted to be shark food, too, but no-can-do.  He was cremated and his ashes were disposed out to sea just over the Golden Gate.  I want the same for myself.  I like when I go to the beach now, I put my toes in the water and say hi to Dad. [:)]

As to the comments "I'll be dead, so I don't care," your families might care.  And it can be a pretty agonizing situation for them, to all sit around and wonder what to do, not knowing.  They're so busy dealing with grief, having to make these decisions can be pretty rough.  I'm remembering when my mother-in-law died.  No clue what she wanted, no will or trust, no nothing.  BIG mess.

housesub4you -> RE: Have you made plans? (8/4/2010 3:35:29 PM)

does it not seem strange that you have made plans for your toys, but not for yourself?

Just saying, which would be harder for your MOM, throwing away toys or you?  Plans are not made for the dead, they are made to help the living.

Do some kind of pre need arrangemnts, because at the very least you will bewhere you want to be and not place that on your family.

Now I say this knowing full well that I have not done the same thing, but the paperwork is getting done.

NO one knows when that day will come, but if you think it is easy for the living, I have learned it is not.  So think of them and pre plan where ever you choose

If you want help email me, but do not think it will all get taken care of because you are dead, the living have to deal with it
