If I have to endure imperfection, I need to be paid.  And NOW.

Not everyone can be as perfect as you- and if you want performance- then that will cost you.   While I do not mind working- I do not work for free.

This complaint is petty.

I had to look up that Chris Crocker. It took less time than it would to type that I don't know him. He was that flaming gay dude who made those "Leave Britney alone!" videos.

If you are pretty sure you can't spell a word, and you don't look it up, it is kind of lazy. A typo is different. That is accidentally hitting the wrong key.  Did I EVER make a claim that I am NOT lazy?  I reserve my right to be lazy about looking up words.  There.   You may typo all you wish...and laugh when I mess up a word if I may also have the right to a chuckle when you typo at a moment when doing so would be...funny.   I wasn't going to laugh, cuz that would show poor manners, but since you brought it up I couldn't resist.  All in good fun, as these message boards are supposed to be.

You do not have to be INTO reading celebrity gossip to know who those people are. I couldn't care less if Lindsay Lohan moved to Mars...but I know who she is. Like her or not, she is in the news and on the covers of magazines.  In grocery stores, I do not look at magazines.  I have too much on my hands already, either watching over my 70 year old mother who is pretty deaf and has always had ADD, or else my son, who is high functioning autistic and is prone to panic attacks if I don't keep a careful eye on him.  Mom likes to mix her stuff all up with mine, in my cart, because she's just quirky that way and I am busy spending my time at a register separating our stuff.

A lot of magazines have hot barely covered tits and ass shots of celebrity females...and since I'm not even bi-curious, what would be the point of looking?  Why would I want to know who's boinking whom, who cheated on his wife AGAIN, and who is being arrested for drugs or drunk driving AGAIN.  I'm 46...and was reading Teen Magazine when I was a teenybopper.  It gets very old hat soon.  Unless maybe...if you have a dick.  Tits never go out of style, do they?  Now if there were older, nice looking men who weren't caught in scandals, but caught being decent and kind and honorable, yes, I'd perv those and change my ways.

I'm not a tv freak.  The only time we watch normal tv here is Saturday morning...for the cartoons.  I'm serious.  I prefer watching things I bought like DVD movies and old tv show seasons.  If I want to know news, or who is in the news, I'll buy a newspaper or come here and see what is being furiously debated.  That latter would be more well rounded than any biased cr*p I could get from my tv, and yes, I go to links and read from online newspapers when my curiosity is piqued.

If memorizing people in the news gives you any sense of really what's going on in this world, and that you have any control of anything, then I'm happy for you.  I, on the other hand, know how insignificant I am in the grand scheme of life.  If I want to make a difference, I DO SOMETHING, and not merely watch life passing me by via tv, news, internet, and magazines.

Sure, you only look up stuff that interests you. But if you are taking a quiz, and an unfamiliar name comes up, you might want to. It takes no more time to that than to type that you don't know who thus and such is.  You are right in this.  If a quiz interested me, I'd look it up.  Unless looking it up would be cheating.   A quiz is a quiz, right?  I never even saw your quiz, since I'm rarely in that area of the boards.  Make one on men where I have to match the ass to the celebrity and I might be interested.  I love asses...just not people who behave like them.  (I'll have to qualify that to say it ain't so when I'm bored.  Someone acting like an ass can be very amusing when I need a distraction.)

Since more postings in this thread would be like I don't feel guilty about derailing it somewhat for a teensy while...and I promise not to do it again in this thread...(hopes one of the mods is a Rickman fan and is in an indulgent mood)...

Alan Rickman, wasn't he in that Johnny Dep movie about the barber and his wife who ate people?

It's been some years since my favorite fanclub for him at EZ Board was hacked and crashed, so I don't know all of his movies...I don't own all of them yet but it's a goal of mine.  Some were released in the UK and nobody could get their hands on them in the USA.  Wouldn't play on our thingies cuz of something to do with regions or something.  (Yes, I am soooo very computer literate and mechanical minded, lol.)

If you can find out that title, please let me know on the other side.  Rickman picks the most freakish movies to be in sometimes.  I loved a lot of his movies to pieces (like Galaxy Quest;  Truly, Madly, Deeply; and Sense and Sensibility), but others of his...Dark Harbor, Rasputin, An Awfully Big Adventure, and Closet Land, for instance, are like...AAAAAAAH!  I have a love/hate relationship with them, lol.  Recently I bought Perfume...OMG, was that freakish.  (A serial killer trained as a perfumer because he obsessed on capturing the perfect variety of phermones of women.)

He may drive me crazy, but he's never boring.  That disgusting movie sounds like one he'd choose to do.  <sighs>

His voice curls my toes, and makes it impossible to ever finish listening to Return of the Native, a book he read out loud.  I hear the voice...and the words mean nothing, lol.  I bought it to listen to during another chemo, whenever I wasn't up to going downstairs to watch tv, but went into remission instead...and so I sometimes play it when washing dishes.

Mom got into Harry Potter with me and my son, and we have read all the books and have every movie put out...and me and mom are/were perving on the same character, Professor Snape.  It's funny, but a slave friend of mine's Owner was watching HP with his slave...and both of them looked at each other and he told her, "I bet Cynthia would like to collar Snape."  I had never brought this up to them before, merely mentioned in passing that my family liked HP movies.  Was he right?    Oh gosh yessssssssssss.

Don't forget, if you find the name of that movie...  Please?

Cynthia...on my quiz, I put up pics just in case someone did not know Paris or Angela Bassett or whomever.  Didn't really matter if you knew much about them...there were illustrations.
I don't know where the being significant versus insignificant if you know who's famous part came in.  That was never part of the equation.

No.

It was AMAZING.
And horrible all at the same time, but I loved it.  My mother can never, ever be allowed to see this movie.  Maybe though...around Halloween...hm.  Anyway, I found it at Big Lots for only $3 on DVD.

I also got Bottle Shock...and learned about American wines, which was cool.  When mom visited my sister in Texas, she brought it back with her as a gift from the both of them.

Many people find famous people to be...significant enough to learn to recognise pix of them on sight.  I am quirky, I guess, in that I don't care for famous people.  I would even turn down dating one just for that very reason, and no amount of millions would impress me.

If your poll was important to you, heck, I'd even go to it right now if it made you feel better.  But, I've had a week straight from Dante's Inferno and it's just not getting any better.

Here, serve me some cheese with my whine...
1)  My old lower back fractures site is acting up and I've been in incredible pain for a solid week.
2)  I broke up with someone yesterday, and yes, he was significant.
3)  Today I took my mom to her doctor apointment(sp?) to have a mole on her face checked out.  The dermatologist's office says it looks like cancer.  We have to wait two weeks for the test results.

I don't give a shiiiiiite about looking up anything other than skin cancers right now.  Sorry about not having patience with you over this, but in the grand scheme of things...

I'll just shut up now.

He was an angel to me when I needed it, so I make it a point to buy every blessed movie of his I can to show my appreciation.  I'm talking about Alan Rickman.  (Maybe you should look him up on Google.)   I'm going to get my hands on a movie he made with Sigourney Weaver called Snow Cake for Christmas, buy myself some eggnog, and sit back and enjoy The Man's acting.

With everyone else...it's the characters portrayed that I love.  Ask me about movie characters and I'll knock your sox off, ask about actors and other celebrities and I'll go "huh???"

*swoooon*

I would SO do that man, if he wasn't involved...

I'd love to hear the back story...

Thank you for adding that.  I have since been informed (again) that we run Windows Vista.

Nice. I'm definitely going to find a copy of Perfume to watch. I remember really liking the book, I can't wait to see some images to go along with it.

Alan Rickmann is just gorgeous, but his voice is what really does me in. So very sexy. There is a CD out there of Shakespeare sonnets, called Love Speaks. Rickmann reads "My Mistress' eyes". Does it for me. Every time.

Did someone say Alan Rickman?

Have you ever noticed that that entire poem is really a bunch of insults?  HEH.  And yet his love is as rare as any....  *swoon...

Oh, and by the way, about spell checker... I can't always get it to work on computers I'm using in Asia.  If someone makes a mistake but they are generally understandable and just made an honest mistake, who cares?  However, the "what r u up 2" thing irritates me.  "Are", "you", and "to" are not very big words.... BTW, TBH, FWIW, etc... the phrasals, I don't mind them (YMMV).
