What do you call playtime? (Full Version)

I was curious how others referred to bdsm playtime with another whether it be friend or significant other.  Words tend to carry different connotations.  Generally I will say "play".  Recently I had a friend ask what we would do in a "session" and how long would the "session" last.  To me, that carried with it the feeling of a pro-setting, which is not what was being discussed in anyway.  This is not affecting my choices regarding when and how I will interact with him, it just sparked my curiosity on how others referred to this "fun time" together.  : )  No right or wrong answers.

Its always been play to me. Or fun. Or sex. well.. all that means the same thing in my head. JOY JOY JOY!

Depends on the person.
For an adult that I am close to (anyone else I wouldn't be sharing private information with) I call it sex. Sex is a common activity and people generally don't ask any prying questions so the conversation ends there.

If it's a medical professional wondering why I have bruises and bite marks I call it consensual activity.

If it's my kids (I have one back home for the summer) wondering where I've been all day with my boyfriend I call it biking and getting something to eat. Which we generally are doing for real before the fun stuff happens.

Like kiwi.. it's usually something along the lines of "Hey, feel like beating my ass.. " or .. "Get yer ass in the room. I feel like beating you." But.. play when it's all fun and games or, when we're in a more serious frame of mind or doing protocol or something then usually scene.

I call that sex.

I don't see any pro connotation with session however, many people use it meaning scening or engaging in bdsm.

Play or scene is usually my preferred term. Locals use the phrase "I got played by..." or "He played me..." and that still rings very strange on my ears.

Don't knock it one day they will be talking about how "Fucky, Spanky, Lick My Balls, and call me Master Time" is the only True way to say "Play Time" and when Old Fucks bring up "Play Time" they will be treated like elitists and called Tight Asses.

Here are just some of the hints I have used:

Are you going to take the cat for a walk tonight? (meaning the cat-o-nine tails)

Is there a full moon out tonight? Can I see it?

Are you feeling stressed? Can I suggest some relaxation techniques?

Are you wanting a good workout tonight? Can I fetch your gear for you?

I do call it play.  I know some folks don't like that because it sounds like 'playing around'.  I look at it like this.  I am playing.  I'm having fun with BDSM.  There may not be any physical sex involved, so I don't call it that.  If I'm engaged in S/m, I'm having a good time.  (The bottom might be too, but that's another issue.)  As long as I'm having fun, I'm going to call it play.

I have been known to say that I'm 'stretching My sadistic legs' or something along those lines.  Play just happens to be shorter to type out.
