popeye1250 -> Now this is scary! (3/24/2010 5:35:26 PM)

Today on the Howie Carr Show, WRKO 680-AM Howie played a cut from Michigan Congressman John Dingell in which the congressman said; "It takes a long time to take the administrative steps that will *control the people.*"
WTF does he mean by that shit?
Any of you people up in Michigan know what he's talking about?

Sanity -> RE: Now this is scary! (3/24/2010 5:37:52 PM)

The audio of those statements has been headlined on The Drudge Report for a couple of days:

http://www.breitbart.tv/shocking-audio-rep-dingell-says-obamacare-will-eventually-control-the-people

I thought it was common knowledge by now.

Thadius -> RE: Now this is scary! (3/24/2010 5:42:59 PM)

Fortunately, he doesn't represent my district, so I don't have to pay attention to him most of the time. It falls in line with the remarks from Rev. Sharpton and the President's new pastor (just take a guess).

Sanity, no, I just heard it today on Howie's show.

Thadius, not,....."dun, dun, dun! "The Reverand" Jesse Jackson?

it seems to me that we stand faced with what appears to be an ever growing volume of clues that lead me to believe that, somethings afoot.

Nah... This one is even better, Rev. Jim Wallis. A really sweet guy and former leader of the Michigan branch of the SDS (you know the group that Ayers group splintered from).

Have fun checking out some of his great thoughts on America...
Fun things like the US is "the great captor and destroyer of human life".

Enjoy.

The federal government will hire 16,500 new IRS agents to insure that everyone signs up for Obama care and complies with the new 'rules'. I'm with Rush on this one. We have to throw those bastards out. November can't come soon enough for me.

Let me see here, we can't afford 16,500 new ICE Agents but we "can" afford 16,500 IRS Agents?

servantforuse -> RE: Now this is scary! (3/24/2010 7:13:20 PM)

Obama will need voters fron south of the border. He will leave them alone and screw the rest of us.

pahunkboy -> RE: Now this is scary! (3/24/2010 7:13:20 PM)

YEah - the vid is on youtube.

Bob Chapman says forced vaccinations are part of the reform.

How many Repubs will you need to overturn an Obama veto? Do you realistically expect that big a turn in the mid term elections?

We need 40 more in the House to defund it for two years, with or without the expected 5-9 pickup in the Senate.

The rest can wait until 2012.

You won a battle. The war is just getting started.

servantforuse -> RE: Now this is scary! (3/25/2010 6:18:11 AM)

In 1994 the republicans picked up 54 votes in the house and took it back. 40 is certainly not out of reach..

xBullx -> RE: Now this is scary! (3/25/2010 6:25:27 AM)

Here's the part that really bothers me and has me convinced there is more to this than meets the eye.

The "battle and war' rhetoric has been flowing wildly from both sides of the perverbial aile.

What is happening to America, land of the free? I see reason to improve things, but to fundamentally tranform them? Why?

I hope all of you realize that the U.S. Civil War was a conflict the began with idealistic rhetoric over fundamental differences.

It is quite possible that our "leaders" are talking us down a path that we, in the end, we will regret immeasurably.

I think it's time to put down the we versus them banners and consider all the possibilities no matter how "unlikely" they might seem.

As Lincoln had once stated, "United we stand, divided we fall." This premise still holds true.

I think the journey started some time ago.

I agree, it seems the transformation talk started way back with a man named Teddy; or at least that is what the Dems seem to have been touting through this health care debate.

But it appears to be a bit more volatile as we go here and I'm not just talking about the clowns on TV and radio.

But I'm curious, as your response seems to have a dismissive nature to it, are you ok with the idea we are becoming divided and that all you want is victory for your side?

thompsonx -> RE: Now this is scary! (3/25/2010 8:12:26 AM)

Care to expand on this?
Is this just a casual reference or do you see specific corolaries between the issues then and the issues now?
