SC man gets 3 years in prison for sex with horse



CONWAY, S.C. – A South Carolina man caught on video having sex with a horse was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison after pleading guilty for the second time in two years to abusing the creature.

Rodell Vereen was also ordered never to go near the stable where the horse's owner caught him and held him for authorities at shotgun point over the summer. He apologized to the woman and to himself after admitting to buggery at the Horry County courthouse.

There is more than meets the eye here - this was the second occasion, and that amounts to an established course of conduct that must implicate the horse too.

You have to wonder though, what was in it for the horse?

Thank you so much for posting this follow up, Level.  I had mentioned the original story to one of the other posters here when I finally got the chance to meet him in person.  I had no idea they had finally sentenced the guy.

(And for those who have the "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut" version of South Park, the movie, now you have an extra reason to laugh at the term "horse fucker".)

Unfortunately, we get that sort of thing a lot down here. The first summer I lived here, about five years ago in the county seat a couple of towns over, they nabbed some creep who snuck into a petting zoo stable two nights in a row, strapped down this poor little burro, and raped her (somehow, I don't think the donkey's gender is as relevant as the discrepancy in species, but hey..). My Husband's clever retort? "Ee-aw, ee-aw, ee-awt not to have done that.."

Damn, is that contagious or something?  There was a guy in El Cajon (near San Diego) that did the same thing, including the "two time offense".

Gee, when I moved here to Myrtle Beach I knew they loved their horses but I didn't think it was in the biblical sense.
There's a riding stable right down the road from me too. Funny, all the women there are always smiling. And I never see them with boyfriends.
